Packers and Steelers have been doing it for years (you’re welcome for Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, etc) but with guys like Moore and Chark and Pettis and Coutee and Calloway getting their names called earlier than many expected during the season — it looks like others are joining them. I love it, it means they’ve wasted a pick on one of the two QBs they’ve taken the last two years. My guess is Gettleman wants his own young qb to develop and not Jerry Reese’s. MikeT14 Posted April 28, 2018 Share Posted April 28, 2018 Overview Apke's production in key indicators for the position, like ball production and tackle consistency, are lacking. With just one year as a full-time starter, there simply isn't enough impressive tape to get excited about. He has decent size and could put together a solid workout, but may not offer enough range in coverage or thump as a tackler to ever be a full-time contributor. I would have rather had one of the DE/DTs available, or a young OL but it’s hard to pass up on Apke’s athleticism and upside at the position.
