Cunningham was a top ST'er for the Rams. Alfred Blue has played behind a bottom 5 OL like his when career.

Ok great. So Cunningham is a STer that will most likely not make the team.

And is Blue going to run with a much better OL here? Fournette has been sub 4.0  ypc here, and so was Ivory (both pounders like him).

Both guys are "pigs", no need to put a makeup on them and dress up as anything more than that.

If we have to rely on either guy to take over for Fournette due to injury, its gonna get ugly

Last year we were trotting out depth from other teams/3rd teamers along the OL and had arguably the worst QB play in the NFL. What did you expect the production out of the backfield to be?

Go look back to 2017 at our numbers...and those were with Omameh and not Norwell (who underperformed last year for sure, but also battled injuries).

These guys are cheap depth signings. We don't know the plan at RB. You can find them anywhere. Doesn't hurt to bring in guys like Blue/Cunningham on the cheap as vets and let them compete and see if they fit/work here. If not cut them no problem.

There's zero downside. If you don't like them fine, but like...who cares at the price they got them? We also don't know if they bring in guys via the draft yet.

Josh Allen would be such an interesting fit if he ended up falling to us somehow.  He'd be swell just as a "Fowler replacement" type DE and great depth behind Yan.  But he'd also open up some neat Bruce Irvin type possibilities at a DE/OLB hybrid role as well.

I wonder if that would trump some more glaring "needs" though, due to fit.

There's an opportunity cost to it though.  If they were bringing these guys in behind a solid #2 type RB, nobody would bat an eye at it.  But that's not what they're doing.

You bring in a better veteran RB option now, precisely so that you're not as likely to find yourself in that situation of scraping guys off other teams practice squads or making trades to address depth mid-season.  At the RB position in this case.

Winovich would be a nice guy to swing back around and pick up Day2 to give us some DE depth.  Seems like the type of hustle and effort guy who might really thrive with a bit of mentoring from a guy like Calais, who seems eager to mentor and teach.  The film is good, and Winovich testing seemed to indicate there's maybe more to him than just hustle too.

Because they'd draft a guy at 7 to play at a position that rarely sees the time of day...

Allen would be more of a Sam LBer then a True pass rushing DE.  hes perfect for a 3-4 OLB cuz he rush and cover but here i feel like his abilities wouldnt be all the way maximized unless allen can play MLB which moves jack.

allens a good pass rusher but i wouldnt call him great. i just feel like he would be a sam lber that can kick down to DE like irvin. dont think we need him tbh.

They wouldn’t get exotic with looks from Allen you can assure Wash would put his hand in the ground 99.9% of the time just like Fowler. Allen is going to be a great 34 OLB. I wouldn’t draft him to put his hand in the majority of the time in a 43 because you’d kill his potential.
