RandyMossIsBoss Posted October 7, 2018 Share Posted October 7, 2018 I don't see what's hard to understand. 58 is barley Elliott's range, and if he misses the Vikings are 20 yards away from a FG that would make this a 2 score game. So you punt it, but give your punter a little more room to keep it out of the endzone by letting the clock go down (and also why not try to see if you could somehow get the Vikes to jump and give us a much more mangeable 53 yard FG). We REALLY screwed the pooch on that drive, not taking advantage of the Vikings shooting themselves in the foot. Embarrassing really, but given that it happened, Doug made right call.
