Week 11 GDT: Titans @ Colts

Even with the blowout, we remain #1 Scoring defense with 16.8 per game. That's the one positive I take from today.
The Chargers from last year (We beat them for the wildcard) are the only team since 2003 not to make the playoffs with the #1 Scoring Defense.

Titans are at 18.9 ppg allowed, which is 2nd. 16.8 was our mark last week. Chargers were 3rd in ppg allowed last year too. Minnesota was #1.

According to this, the Chargers were. Don't know how credible the site is....

But I see you are getting it straight from NFL.com

So I guess no positives..lol

Will say this to, Kelly is better than Conklin right now. Maybe Conklin is having some effects from the knee still and not fully back but Kelly has easily been the better player this year.

Conklin legs not all the way underneath him, which I understand it takes about a full year coming off a knee surgery before you feel like you felt before you blew it.

Is there a team that runs on 1st down more than we do? Anyone have that stat?

if I had to guess, we run on first down approx 97% of the time

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/rushing-first-down-pct

According to this says we are 9th. Don't know if it's rushing success or run called.
But if you look at the others, they aren't exactly the most affluent offenses in the league outside of the outlier in the Saints.

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/rushing-attempts-per-game

We are top 6 in times we try to rush per game. No coincidence that the Rams are #4 and San Fran is number 8.
This offense is built on running the ball. If you can't run the ball, it is stuck in mud.

This loss would have been easier to swallow if Marcus didn’t get hurt again and if Pees wasn’t taken to the hospital. We aren’t beating Houston again if Gabbert starts, and with Vrabels track record of calling plays on defensive in Houston on top of that debacle yesterday, things look a lot more grim.
