Because the only reason he has 91 catches is because its a pass friendly league. He also finished 2nd in the league in rushing with 1300 yards rushing on a 5.0 average. Any and every Giants fan would happily trade Barkley for Baker right now, just like every Baltimore fan would gladly trade Lamar for Baker. Anyone who says they wouldn’t is clearly being obtuse and would rather argue for “their guy”. Baker is winning games and putting up top shelf numbers (with Kitchens) as a rookie and doing so a.) from the pocket in a sustainable manner and b.) at the most important position on the field by a country mile. Who wins the award? Idgaf. Who’s the best rookie? Baker, and any other argument is nothing more than mental masturbation. Baker plays the more important position. Barkley had the better rookie season. This isn't a hard concept to grasp.

I would rather keep Barkley thank you very much. The beauty of this is that it’s completely hypothetical and you don’t have to actually back that up. Allows you to double down on the bad take. Im sure you’d have no interest in a rookie QB who’s had a top 5 (in the league) passing DVOA since he was unshackled from Hue’s incompetence. Especially not when you’d have to give up a running back. In 2018. It’s not like you can get a rookie back who could get 5.2 ypc in the second round or anything..

He’s 19th in Passer Rating and 17th in yards, in a league filled with backups, journeymen, guys playing through injuries, and other rookies. Ergo, his numbers are below average. He’s also not winning games. He has a losing record on a team with good defense, offensive line, and running game. He’s still a loser.

Yeah that 17th is only with playing. 13.5 games. If he started from day one, projects 4200+ yards 33TDs. Puts him borderline top10 in yards and top5/6 in TDs. Why does everyone think Baker started the season
