TitanSS
I think calling Byard second tier is underrating him. Several guys can top him deep and several guys top him underneath and in the box, but no one else is as complete as he is right now. PFF had him as the #3 in the NFL, and although that means very little to me, I respect Greg Cossell more than anyone in NFL media and he has said on numerous occasions that he thinks Kevin Byard is the best safety in the NFL.

Collins is on the Edge, after an off season. Byard is in the 2nd tier with an this up and coming safeties I mentioned. But that's underrating him? Lol. Yeah, ok Really dude? Eric Berry? He’s played in 3 games over the last 2 seasons lol stop. Smith and Thomas literally do nothing better than Byard. At the very least he is on par with anything they can do. PFF? The same sure that has Finch as our 4th highest rated player... And Pruitt 6th? Looking past that... They had Jackson, Adams, and James top 3, above Byard. That's some of the same group I have Byard alongside with... As the young, up and coming group. I don't think Byard had distinguished himself from that group... (J Johnson, K Jackson, Hyde, McCourty, Harrison find out the rest of the PFF group). They're all good. Jackson, Adams, James, Smith all made all pro last year... Hyde, Clinton - Dix, Thomas, Berry, McCourty, Collins, Byard all have 1 in the the past 3 years. Smith is the only one with multiple years in the past 3. Again, the top tier is the established elite. Harrison is elite. Thomas is elite. Berry may have been the best safety in the NFL prior to his injuries and I wont remove him from the group until his play on the field warrants it (if he came back from cancer, I won't count him out now). Collins had a bad season, but he's 2 years removed from a 3rd place DPOY season. Byard has a chance to establish himself as elite... But has he been passed by the guys that made all pro over him this past season? One season is not enough to say so... All of these guys on this group have a bit to go to distinguish themselves as the new elite.

Going into the draft with that major hole would be a major mistake.

Preston who wants to much money. Houston with injuries and age.
titans0021
I’d love to add Houston. Would also be happy to get Suh and add an edge in the draft. If we come out of FA without any pass rush help, I’d consider it a failure.

We’re going to rely on a rookie and a 2nd year player to chase the likes of Watson, Luck, and Foles around? Yea that’s a recipe for a disaster. They screwed up by handing out that dumb contract last year to Butler. Seems they’re prioritizing the secondary over pass-rush which leaves you in last place in a division you have to get to the QB. Mariota615TN
Crappppp. What the heck do we do now? Overpay for Preston Smith or reach to the Level 2 free agent OLBs? Trade for Dee Ford?

ttitansfan4life
Probably going to sign a 2nd or 3rd tier guy like Wake, Barrett, Simon, Golden, or Ray.
