I’ve seen his name mentioned before, but I will go with Dabo Swinney being Cleveland’s next coach. I don’t believe the guys being mentioned now will be selected.

I think he’d keep Freddie Kitchens as OC.

Dabo? LOL. Seriously?

Unless Kingsbury comes up, I don't think I see a college coach coming up to the NFL unless Miss Terry signs the permission slip to allow Nick Saban to come back.

CFB has it's own nepotistic circle just as the NFL does.  And it's fairly rare that those Ven diagrams ever actually overlap.  This isn't the 70's and 80's anymore, guys.

It wouldn't be a total shock if the Jets hired Matt Rhule. He's in the running and interviewed for the position on Sunday.

That'd be a shame because he's low-key one of the most underrated recruiters out there.  I want to see him at a near-major program (and no, a sanctioned to death Baylor is not that).

Wonder why Scar would do that overall Koetter did a pretty good job for us while here and Ryan likes him alot.  I mean he did well enough to turn it into a headcoaching job with Tampa lol.  In 2012 under him was probably Ryans 2nd or 3rd best season and this year even though he didn't do amazing as a HC at times that Tampabay offense was straight scary with a set of QB's that couldn't figure out wtf they wanted to be on a weekly basis.

He's been all over Twitter the last couple weeks opining how Koetter never got the most out of Ryan and was too quick to abandon the running game the same way Sark did.

Im not gonna lie he was known to abandon the run game at times.  But i think Ryan done pretty well under Koetter overall and i liked our offense most of the time while he was here. Guess me and Sark just gonna have to disagree on what we think of Koetter this time.   If we get him i like the hire he's the guy i wanted after Kubiak was blocked although i wouldn't have been against Gase either to see what he would have brought to the table with our talent.   Murlarky and Bevell were the guys i didn't want to come here of the guys i seen linked.   With that said it's a scrub named D orlando Bedwtter reporting this and he's hot garbage as a reporter 99.9% of the time so who knows if this is even real lol.  I'll wait and see Koetter might even prefer to go to the vikings i heard he was offered as well there.

Why would anyone want Saban? He was a disaster in Miami because his players didn't respect him. He sees himself as the dictator of his team. NFL players don't respond to coaches like that. He has leverage over college players. They need him to get to the NFL. Once you're in the NFL, the players have the leverage. You have to earn their respect, or they'll undercut you.

What’s wrong with Dabo?

It's like hiring Urban Meyer. What does he offer? Dabo relies on his coordinators to run his units at Clemson. He's not a special Xs and Os coach. His biggest strengths are his ability to recruit and his leadership/communication skills. Obviously, leadership/communication skills matter, but recruiting does not in the NFL. I think, unlike some other college coaches, Dabo could earn the respect of and lead a NFL locker room. The problem is that he's a guy who is totally reliant on his coordinators. What NFL connections does he have? If he can't land a strong staff, he just doesn't offer you much. Best case scenario, you have John Harbaugh or Mike Tomlin. But that's only if he lands in a great situation and can surround himself with good people. My personal philosophy with college coaches is that you only hire guys who have a lot of NFL experience/connections or have demonstrated mastery on one side of the ball and have the leadership/communication skills needed to lead in the NFL.

Kind of sounds like Mike Vrabel and to a certain extent John Harbaugh.

Speaking of Mike Tomlin, not that there are any rumors he is going to fired but he is generating a lot of angst amongst the media and Steelers Nation:

https://triblive.com/sports/steelers/14476789-74/john-steigerwald-time-for-mike-tomlin-to-walk-away-as-steelers-coach

My prediction is if Mike Munchak is hired to be Denver's head coach then John Elway will try to trade for Ben Roethlisberger. If Mike Tomlin is fired, then it would make it much more realistic in my mind.
