BDL Discussion Thread 2019

Should have stayed. This was my coping tool for the last two years as I struggle with a mental health illness and a serious loss of life, in my life.I just wanted to prove to myself I could face it on my own. I was spending so much time on here almost all night just waiting for someone to post. Made some trades just to give me some excitement. Posted all the trade blocks because the idea of a potential trade was a distraction for me. Any time I was down I would think about some trade talks I was in or who I was going to draft. It helped a lot. I really do want to thank you guys for including me in this the past two years. I appreciate it.

I hope you can find a replacement coping tool for whatever you're struggling with, or find whatever it is you're looking for. or just continue to be a co-owner.

I started a single team sim. I'll see how that goes. Thanks.

Counselor, you have become part of the BDL family.  We have all gone through our share of ****.  I had a year where I was minimally active, and everyone was here for me.  I have done the active same thing you have in terms of watching the thread.  Still do sometimes.  We're here for ya however you need us to be.

There are a lot of teams looking for a co-owner.  There are a ton of ways you could be involved.  And then when a team inevitably needs an owner, you can step right back in.

Unselfishly, I hope that BDL and us goofy ****s can continue to be a source of happiness for you.  Selfishly, I hope you continue to participate cause I like having you here.

Seriously, we're here for you as much or as little as you need us to be.

From one counselor to another, there are healthy and unhealthy ways to self-regulate. Being on here can truly cause screen addiction while also distract you from what you are not wanting to think about or respond to. While we will miss you AND you will always be welcome back, this may also not be a healthy avenue to heal either. I've witnessed over the past couple months the reactiveness you have had towards others here when criticism in any form had been levied. You took at times things as a personal afront to you. You also have had some very quick decisions a whim. Both of which shows that you are not currently at this time properly self-regulation. It may be wise to reevaluate your physical, emotional and coginitive regulating strategies to help you through this trying time.

I truly hope you find your balance again.

I will double what both PR and Rags said. I don't believe compensating issues you have IRL with an Internet addiction is a healthy thing for you. I'm not a specialist and there are a lot of people much more equipped than me for this, but there are many different ways to combat those demons. Overcompensating with something else is not imho.

On the other end, as you know, we're a tight community of people from various backgrounds, and we are all more than willing to help you out in any way possible. You have to find the right balance between using BDL (and other forum activities) as a tool to keep your mind busy at times you need but not as a distraction that avoid you solving your issues.

I strongly advise you to get professional help (and not those painkillers that Americans are addicted to) if you haven't done it already. It did wonders to friends of mine who faced mental issues but you have to allow yourself to it.

@Counselor basically another way of saying with that other people have already said I'm going to tell you this don't forget that there are real people in front of the computers or phones or whatever other device people use these days that are posting and being involved in these threads. You Are Not Alone
