PFF is basically projecting what they think the OL performance will look like this year for each team, and ranking them accordingly.

All these projections are based on last year + added assets. There are almost never projections that arent very close to the year before.

Not true. They had the WFT OL ranked 6th to end the year. Their projected 2021 rankings have us at 16th. They had the Packers ranked 2nd to end the year. Their projected rankings have them at 15th. They had the Cowboys ranked 27th to end the year. Their projected rankings have them at 6th.

Need I go on?

What an idiot 😂😂

I understand the initial hesitation for some people, but his reasons are stupid.

FTR: there have been some complications that the media and internet have really downplayed, such as blood clots.

PS: am vaccinated personally.

Initial hesitation is one thing, but like you said his reasoning makes no sense.

He wants more info, but isn't a fan of the team bringing in experts to talk about COVID and the vaccine.

He says he's not gonna treat it until he has it. How in the world does that make any logical sense? lol

Maybe its just me but anybody not getting it is being selfish. It's not just about you. Your choice affects people of all age ranges and we've seen COVID slow down football players last year and getting it put others at risk and that goes well beyond just the players. They can get others infected like the coaching staff and other numerous personnel in the building who could then get their families infected.

I mean I think there's been some rare cases with some vaccines, but the two main ones in America don't have those incidents. I think J&J might.

I've seen a lot of articles about the blood clots though, so it may be downplayed on TV, but I don't think it is on the internet. It's a lot harder to keep information from getting out on the internet for better or worse (misinformation).

Also, I had to google after you said this cause I thought Sweat had a heart condition, but I guess after he was diagnosed at the combine he got further testing from experts/doctors and they figured out he was misdiagnosed.

The internet mentality right now is that if you dont get vaccinated you should be executed in your home in front of your children. The internet mob is out for blood on pretty much any site that allows comments (social media, reddit, forums, etc).

There *are* legit reasons to either 1. wait on getting it until you are satisfied with the information or 2. not get it at all. But for the vast majority of us, just get the damn thing.

Be real. You're gonna be waiting a long time (years) to get all the information from the studies and most of these people claiming they want more information aren't reading the type of stuff to be informed on the topic. They almost certainly wouldn't be anti-vaxxers if they did. Most are probably using YouTube as a resource lol.

Each day people wait to get the vaccine the worse off we are. Some areas of the country will reach herd immunity, but most won't or are gonna take a while to get there if they do.

I'd never judge someone with an underlying medical condition that wants to wait or talk to their doctor before rushing to get the vaccine, but like you said most should be getting it. A lot of the people not getting it are perfectly healthy individuals that are just conspiracy theorists.

This is the internet mob mentality I was talking about. I have a client who has been a medical professional for 30 years and she isnt getting it. She is friends with many general practice doctors, surgeons, specialist. Has gathered her information and has decided to wait.

Just because you are choosing to wait, it doesnt mean you are a moron. Its a bit harsh to generalize people like that; arent we supposed to be moving past stereotyping?

Especially dangerous when you factor in how often big pharma gets it wrong. "Hey, take this anti-depressant, but let your doctor know if it made you commit suicide!".

Just food for thought.

Walking a fine line here. Probably better to stick with football.

Yup I'mma be a stick in the mud.

The stick is actually in your butt and it comes with taking a mod position. 😉

Isn't there a thread literally dedicated to talking COVID on here though?  I'll drop it though. It doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things. I just thought it was funny how dumb a person can be like everything he (Sweat... not Matts) said defied logic.

There are a number of professional athletes that probably can't even read, so what Sweat said really doesn't surprise me to be frank. Nothing either of you said is against the rules, but "Prevention is the best medicine." There is that one COVID thread in TAST, and its easier to deal with this sort of thing when that stays self contained. Unfortunate as it may be, getting the vaccine or/not has in many ways become a politically tribal issue. I believe most of us here have the maturity to handle such a conversation, but I want to just pump the breaks a bit so that no one gives Kilty and I a reason to actually have to do our job.

People with pre-existing medical conditions, women who are pregnant/breastfeeding/or may be pregnant soon, or children under the age of 12, these are the segments of the population who IMO have a legitimate reason not to get vaccinated.  Montez Sweat does not fit any of these criteria and neither do 99% of the NFL players.

We have no idea how real those heart issue concerns are.  Yes, there were reports that he was misdiagnosed, but we still don't know the extent to which he and his doctor(s) may still have long-term concerns.

It's possible he was just trying to come up with any excuse he could think of (admittedly, he decided on a terrible one) so that he didn't put it out there that he has a medical issue he's worried about.  That would obviously be detrimental to his prospects in FA.  He dropped to #26 for a reason.  It definitely wasn't talent.

Though I will say it's more likely that he just isn't very well-educated on this subject and is severely misinformed.  I'm just saying I wouldn't completely write off that he has no pre-existing conditions that would make him wary.

Lol. Its almost as if you can read the standard label on any medicine ever produced whether it turned out to be good or bad.

Not talking about the vaccine @Danger. Just laughing at how people can take things said by large companies (including the gov) at 100% face value when its been proven that we should always, always take things with at least a smidge of salt.

You guys should watch that movie with Mark Ruffalo about tephlon. I think its called Dark Waters or something like that? Its a case that ended just a decade ago. Its a *TRUE STORY* about how the Gov and big companies covered up giving people cancer for 50+ years.  At the end of the story it has an extremely alarming stat. They estimate due to the cover up that roughly ~90% of humans now have this carcinogen in their body.
