I wouldn’t swear to it, but iirc @BobbyBelt did this last year and was right on LVE.... his latest prediction.

Updated guesses on pick odds --------------- Pick 58:

DL Jaylon Ferguson - 20%

SAF Juan Thornhill - 15%

DT Trysten Hill - 15%

CB Joejuan Williams - 10%

CB Isaiah Johnson - 10% Other - 30%

---------------

Trade up:

DL Collier - 35%

SAF Abram - 30%

SAF Rapp - 20%

Other - 15%

I don’t get the love for Ferguson. The film and production is excellent, but his test numbers go against the grain of the typically numbers Dallas prefers

I hope he's wrong then.

Everybody had LVE as a top target.

No hate on Bobby Belt, but if you believe this, you have to believe that Bobby Belt has a source high up that speaks only to him.

This would be extremely surprising. He’s a low SPARQ athlete from a small school. This would buck the MO of the front office since McClay took over. I know he’s on the 30 visit list, but he’s visiting a whopping 22 teams because he was disinvited from the combine. And it’s a position that isn’t a huge need. None of it makes much sense at pick #58. Later, maybe.

Actually Ferguson fits the mold of DE's that we tend to go for. we like the guys who look explosive on film but have Sparq questions. Like look at DLaw.

I like Fergy, but barf at spending our first pick on a 4th string DE.

I understand RG is wholly unreliable and Quinn is a rental, but still. Best case scenario he is a 3rd or 4th string DE. We have been getting starters in round 2 the last couple years.

Cowboys 10 Draft Commandments

Some interesting facts and tidbits within....

Quote

Under Jason Garrett, the Dallas defense is now on it’s third new iteration with Kris Richard in charge.

Was this ever officially announced? I know it's been speculated, but I don't recall RM handing over anything. If KR is actually in control of the defense then, history says this is going to be a defensive heavy draft.

Quote

They didn’t outright say it, but in talking about tight end it felt as if they were saying bringing back Witten solved the huge need they spoke about in earnest early in the offseason.

No words for how much I hate this. Dallas is going to waste another loaded TE class and give Witten 90% of the snaps again.

Quote

It was very interesting to see the team do next-to-nothing in bringing in defensive backs which fit Richard’s prototypes, either through 2018 free agency or that year’s draft.  Here’s research on the difference in what he targets and what the Cowboys have targeted in their drafts..  We expect that to change this year. The backup safeties are already in house between George Iloka (6-foot-4), Darian Thompson and Kyle Queiro (both 6-foot-2). Now the starters and corners will be the targets.

I'm going to predict Jourdan Lewis gets traded at some point during the draft.  Isaiah Johnson or Joejuan Williams suddenly look even more likely than they already were.

Witten isn’t getting 90% of the snaps. I think that quote is more a long the lines of signing Jason back gives them that solid veteran presence to help out the young guys.

Richard was calling the defensive line-ups last year, IIRC. Think it’s one of those unsaid things that he’s basically the DC.

Darian Thompson was on the roster before KR.

They probably aren't bringing in CBs because they are stacked at CB. J.Lewis probably isn't going anywhere because A.Brown is. I think he walks for a comp, and Lewis stays.

Meh, Richard has shown alot of interest in some of the CB's it could be we are looking for a replacement.

Brown has one year left just like Dak, Zeke, and Jaylon. But guess who doesn’t come up during extension talk?

Brown is gone after this year and Lewis may or may not replace him but I bet he stays to keep it competitive

Don't forget Jones.

You are right. Nothing much is being said there.

But Byron is exactly what KR wants in a CB. Why replace him? Both JJ and SJ praise his smarts, length, and athleticism.
