Any time I see this junk, I think back to the "fans" saying Mack was a bust after his first preseason because he didn't get a sack until the final game against the 3rd string players. It's 3 practices... Maybe, show some restraint. Rookies on the Dline take time to adjust to the speed and the overall mental aspects of the game.

RaidersAreOne
As expected, Joyner is out slot guy. I guess it'll be Abram/Joseph over the top.

I really hope Joseph can improve and be here long term. I like him alot as a person. Abrams too. I hope the Joseph/Abram duo is our long term Safety solution.

Same, and tbh he played quite well later in the year. I was livid when those rumors came out about us trying to trade him. He has his limitations but he is a solid starting S in the NFL at worst. But the more I think about it the more I believe he probably wouldn't have been the pick if the team didn't already have two other first-rounders. It seems like Mayock really wanted to hit three doubles and gain the trust of the coaching staff with those picks. I'm most happy with the Jacobs pick, and I also like Abram, but I'd be surprised if Ferrell became an elite player in the NFL. I also think there's a reasonable chance he doesn't re-sign after his rookie deal. But, I'd be surprised if he becomes an outright bust, though. It reminds me of the Tyson Jackson pick the Chiefs made in 09 I believe. They were switching to a 3-4 defense, and he was like the only 3-4 DE in that class with a first round grade so they reached and took him at #3 because of scheme fit. I feel like after Bosa, Ferrell was the only DE who fit what PG likes. 6'4 +, long and big, able to set the edge and hold up in the run game. However, I just never believed the prototypical DE in the Paul Guenther defense warranted a top 5 selection but we did it. I dont believe Ferrell will ever be the guy you ideally want as your teams best edge rusher. If he can develop into a poor man's Jadeveon Clowney (6-8 sacks per year, good run defense ) I guess I can't be too upset with the pick. But when picking top 5, you want star players and I dont believe Ferrell will ever be that.
agarcia34
Joseph and Abram seem to be getting along very nicely. I hope that not having an elderly Reggie Nelson playing next to him allows him to open up his game and be that player that I saw out of West Virginia. This is the best talent the Raiders have had in the secondary in a long time. With Joyner strictly being a slot CB. Your gonna have to produce to get some playing time. I hope the Raiders take a chance on Nick Perry. He's had a bad year last year but has had an 11 sack season before. Would be nice to bring in another EDGE rusher instead of more DT's. But his floor is probably what u wrote. 6-8 sacks and solid run d. So of he gets 9-11 sacks a few years with that same run def. You'd have to say that's a good pick. And need to add to it. I expect a jump from key and pj hall in sack production.

People forget that Ferrell like Mack was a run stopper first and then became a pass rusher.
