😅 A helluva lot better and more skilled than Ferrell.  Dont even try to compare the two, dude.

He only had 10.5 sacks his last year and 28.5 over 4 years, while playing in the MAC.

You forget that Mack was a OLB in a small school  and he developed into an all pro DE.

Same... I have a soft spot for guys like him that don't look the part, but just know how to get it done.

It's so bad, the coaches and GM are even commenting on his look and how he doesn't fit the billing of an NFL WR.  😂😂 Definitely a guy to root for.

We also had a full athletic profile on Mack and he projected well.

Abused a lot? Based on 1 play against an All-Pro, future HOF player in camp?!

Charles Woodson got beat quite a bit the first half of his rookie season but improved with the experience.

Hopefully all our rookies get some playing time and improve too.

Also hoping Miller's made huge strides with weight gain and playing through injuries last season.

Dude he was never drafted to be a pass rushing  specialist, He was drafted to be a solid three down DE.

If you take an edge player that early, especially with as bad as our pass rush was last season, you're drafting him to be a pass-rush specialist.

Any time I see this junk, I think back to the "fans" saying Mack was a bust after his first preseason because he didn't get a sack until the final game against the 3rd string players.

It's 3 practices... Maybe, show some restraint. Rookies on the Dline take time to adjust to the speed and the overall mental aspects of the game.

Mack was actually worth a top 5 pick though, he was an elite athlete. Ferrell was over-drafted because of need.

Reminder... Mack didn't flash anything in preseason. They let him play into the 4th quarter of the last preseason game just to get a sack.

People were legit calling Mack a bust after preseason around here.

Mack =/= Ferrell

It's like saying you shouldn't doubt your 6th round QB because Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round and struggled in his first preseason. There's no correlation. Mack was a much better player than Ferrell coming out of college.

If Mayock had his old seat at NFL Network, for 3 months prior to the draft all we would have heard about was how great Ferrell was and there would be no one angry about Ferrell's pick at #4.

I am not worried about him.

Looking at Mack vs Ferrell coming out I had similar grades on both. I had some major concerns about Mack coming out, and they showed in his first camp and preseason, but he worked hard in his first 18 months as a professional and developed into an elite player coming into year 2. I think Ferrell can come along just the same.

Mack was actually an elite athlete, Ferrell isn't. We also shouldn't compare a rookie to the best edge player in the league.

Vic mentioned on the podcast that they have moved Ferrell inside at times during nickel packages. Haven’t seen that mentioned at all before from anyone so that’s is interesting and something to keep an eye on.

I wonder what they'll look like, I'm assuming: Key - Hurst - Ferrell - Crosby/Mayowa. Gunther probably plans to use Ferrell how he would've used Mack.
