He was a beast for the Ravens and then was a piece of dook after that. He was a beast for 1.5 years IIRC. I hated letting him go at the time, but looking back now it was a classic "performing in a contract year" player who spiraled downhill after that. Another example that you can not always judge a QB on the Win-Loss record .... You have to make a change at the QB position if your QB is awful, even if you are 9-2 or something like that .. In 2006, Grossman was hot in September (player of the month in the NFC) but from the game against the Cardinals, Grossman has had so many awful game. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/G/GrosRe00/gamelog/2006/ 5 games with a QB rating of 36 or less in his last 11 games!!! ... Grossman should have been benched after the game against the Vikings when he had a QB rating of 1.3 or something like that. What is funny is that the Bears had still won this game easily, 23-13 despite an awful game for Grossman (6-19 34 yards, 0 TD 3 INT) Grossman should have been benched after the Arizona game. He was exposed as the main liability of the team in that game. I firmly believe that Chicago would have won the Super Bowl that year with Griese or even Orton. kingseanjohn
Dontari Poe was pretty dominant in KC. I know he had some injury concerns with his back, iirc, and then went to Atlanta. But I haven't heard anything since.

How about Rashean Mathis? He was a pretty good CB, looked like he was on his way to becoming a top 5 CB back in the days for Jacksonville. Then one day, you never heard from him again. Never sure how his career finished out. He finished up in Detroit. He actually played a pretty solid #2 but his age definitely showed up in his final season before retiring. Nothing fantastic, but played very solid.

Not in support of grossman but there was no capable quarterback on any bears roster for at least a decade until we traded for one.

Brian Griese, who was in their roster would have been better..Grossman was garbage after his first 5 games of the season in 2006 ... 5 games with a QB rating of 36 or lower in his last 11 games! Griese was not great, but he was an average QB..Much better than Rex Grossman. The Bears fan were always holding their breath when Grossman attempted a pass. Only thing he was good for was throwing less interceptions and staying healthy. And having a gnarly neck beard

Griese was coming off a torn ACL and didn’t do too much better coming into games late in the season. Grossman had a higher ceiling than Griese, so the Bears stuck with him. Indy still wins that Super Bowl, regardless of which Bears QB played.
MrBurfict
Mike Anderson Olandis Gary James Stewart All very solid RBs at one point in their careers and fizzled out quickly. James Stewart retired after a 1000 yard season due to injuries. No idea what happened to Anderson and Gary, though.
