The Philadelphia 76ers Thread: Where Simmons, yet again, guards fours

The wife is such a dummy. Why the hell would you even care what some nerds are staying about your accomplished millionaire husband? Just shut your trap and know your role. It's a shame he's going to pay for this with his career. With that said, never liked the guy. Not having the foresight to see Tatum or even that Fultz would drop anyhow and the fact you gave your direct competition for the next 10 years a huge asset was grounds for removal. Not a great time for us to be looking for a GM with such a big offseason looming but hey, if LeBron can pick his own GM and alllllll for it. :D

man watching lebron in the playoffs if he was with ben and joel next year we might lose less than 10 games the entire season on the way to a title.

We would need to add shooting / hold onto JJ. But it would be fun.

Speaking of getting LeBron, can we fire Bryan now?

Do Lebron and Simmons fit together? Seem too similar and Ben doesn't have a jump shot. If Lebron signed, would the 6ers consider trading Simmons? As unlikely as that sounds.

They aren't trading Simmons.

They won't trade Simmons due to his age and his potential. Dude gets any sort of jump shot and he's pretty much a lock to be a top 5 player for years to come. In the short term is LeBron/Kawhi/Embiid a better trio? Absolutely. But I think one of the reasons LeBron would want to come to Philly is so someone else could handle the play making and allow him to use less energy on the offensive end. Right now he has to score 40+ and create every shot for the role players.

Simmons and LBJ would find a way to coexist. Hell, LeBron isn't even that bad of a 3PT shooter. 37% on 5 3's per game this season, and you can bet 4/5 of those were fully contested. On a team with more talent he will get more open looks (And he is smart, likely to work and improve his 3 as he ages to compensate). He could be a 42% 3PT guy in Philly IMO.

Still, they absolutely would need to concentrate on shooters around LBJ/Simmons/Joel. IDK how they could bring JJ back with signing Bron'.

If they go for a win-now move with Bron' signing, it should be Fultz that goes. But his value may not be worth it at this point.

Fultz value is to low. You hope they have had a side agreement with JJ and he comes back for the MLE or something.

Pray Saric continues to shoot well and Embiid improves some.

Simmons and LBJ are both deadly off teh ball cutting, would be fun to see them together. And BS would take a big load off of LeBron, keeping him fresh and extending the career if he so choses.

Fultz shouldn't be going anywhere. His value like stated isn't high right now and his potential is too good to give up. I'm a big believer of this guy as long as he develops some what of a decent jump shot. It's a top level skill he has to get to the rack anytime he wants to.

I wonder if you guys flip that 10th pick for a vet player if you get word that LeBron is coming. May be able to unload Bayless contract by attaching that 10th pick.

Well since our GM isn't going to draft workouts, mine as well move it.

And that Bayless contract is so annoying, no idea why we gave that out.

That is the worst thing about the whole timing of the Colangelo fiasco. Right before the draft and free agency.

Honestly, the team has plenty of youth with Embiid/Saric/Fultz/Simmons. Need some legit veteran players if LeBron is to come. Trade Bayless and the 10th pick for a nice role player.
