Nope, board certification. 12 people total in Austin were invited to take the test last year, 1 passed.

Probably not the biggest achievement ever for a lawyer, but for a younger girl who started her practice just years ago, its a huge step in the right direction.

There are some courts that you have to get admitted into after you are a member of that state's bar in order to litigate in them.  Like the Tax Court, federal courts, appellate courts, etc.  Maybe that?  But that's not some once a decade deal.
