If not for that complete BS offensive Pi call against Cooper when Lattimore was grabbing him downfield and all over his back, Maher may be attempting a 58 yard field goal for the win.

Regardless, absolutely atrocious effort tonight. Kellen Moore went full Linehan for half the game, the defense never took away the ONE thing Bridgewater can do, allowed their O to extend drives and hog the ball, and played right into the Saints’ hands.

The defense allowed 12 points and 250 yards in offense

I'm not complaining about the defense

If someone told you before the game, we'd allow 12 points, would you have taken it?

Well we played terrible on offense. And d played too damn safe vs a team that’s not a vertical threat.

Refs were terrible, but on both sides. Of course two biggest calls ( late amari PI and slow clock to end first half) both went to New Orleans.

Still dont know why d played so safe. Bridgewater is not gonna air it out and Thomas isn’t a burner. We played into New Orleans hands of allowing them to hold the ball and keep our oline to wear them down.

That’s not the point. As the game unfolded, they simply played right into their hands. Just because you’re likely to win 95% of the time when you give up ‘x’ number of points, doesn’t mean that said benchmark is good enough for a particular set of circumstances throughout the game. The defense failed on way too many opportunities to halt the opposition and put the offense in better field position. Instead they got gashed by dump offs and screens, and allowed Bridgewater to be comfortable with quick passes to stay in front of the chains.

The failure to clamp down on the short game and dare them to take deep shots was unconscionable.

They played it safe against Teddy freaking Bridgewater.

It’s not even the points though. It’s the grinding possessions. Dak and cowboys offense are a third quarter offense. They had the ball once in that third scored a TD then didn’t see it again until the 4th.

250 yards over 4 quarters and all the points were FG's

The offense couldn't sustain a drive without turning it over and shifting the field position
