The jumper is much better than Lonzo mechanically, and Lamelo is much better around the rim. Lonzos biggest issue is he’s afraid to go to the rim and he can’t finish there. LaMelo is NOT a good finisher whatsoever.

Lonzo shot 80% at the rim at UCLA and was head and shoulders above LaMelo as a prospect. Lonzo was the consensus #3 guy ahead of Tatum, Fultz, Fox, Bam, Isaac and an amazing overall stacked class. LaMelo was the consensus #23 guy ranked behind studs such as Tre Mann (6 ppg on 35% FG) and Josiah Jordan James (7 ppg on 38% FG). And one of the worst classes we’ve seen in the modern era. Lonzo has regressed in that aspect greatly though. He never goes to the rim and never finishes.

And he was a way better finisher than LaMelo at the same stage. So why would LaMelo who’s a lesser athlete/player translate as a better finisher in the NBA? The bottom line is that when teams choose to double team harden the second he crosses half court, we torch them for wide open shot after wide open shot. If we make 7 of 29 then we aren’t gonna win but most of the time we don’t shoot that poorly.
resilient part 2
Damn I hate how efficient Brandon Clarke has been with Memphis. Shooting neat 47% from 3 so far. Wasn't even supposed to be a 3 point shooter. I also love his versatility on defense. A perfect example of a modern day do everything role player.
