WindyCity
This TE class in the draft and free agency is not very deep. I wonder if we can pry away Blake Jarwin from the Cowboys in RFA.

But Horstead especially is an intriguing talent. Heard most of Bears 100 interview with him other day. He never expected to be a pro football player. He's a multisport guy, so he never spent an off season just concentrating on football before. So ostensibly he can get much better with specialization going forward. He was a WR in college. So he young and is raw as raw can be for a TE and still looks good. I think you can see he has an "IT" factor about him. He is a natural play maker and you can't really teach that. He is just one of those people who can do things other people can't with the lights on. Still all that being said, he is near definition of a tweener. So who knows if he can make it long term. I like him a lot better than our expensive free agent Burton as a small move TE. I think that has been clear since they unleashed him in preseason. His college tape is very impressive as well.

Holtz might show he can be an average or serviceable Y. If he plays like he did last week he is slightly above average.

Not sure why you wouldn't want him replaced by that second rounder you got lined up behind him...
G08
Leno has been awful... once I saw Green Bay blitzing corners off the edge week 1 and knocking our starting LT back, I knew we were in trouble. He needs to get much, much stronger in his base (can he?) or he needs to be replaced. Can't have that nonsense on the blindside (this coming from a Leno supporter). TE, I haven't looked at the draft class closely yet but if there is a lack of options there, we should make a move in FA. I hate spending that much $$$ at one position (Burton plus whomever) but that is the cost for having busts high in the draft (Shaheen). Cut Amukamara, draft his replacement in round 2 and see if you can get your hands on one of these: Eric Ebron (27 but coming off what could be surgery on both ankles) Tyler Eifert (29 but is this dude even remotely healthy?) Hunter Henry (25 but is he worth the price tag and can he stay healthy?) Austin Hooper (25 but again what is the $$$?)
BACK2MACKSACK
I think this team absolutely needs to draft an OT with one of our second round picks. Our team is definitely lacking talent at the position and if you want a guy with talent you're going to have to spend a pick in the first 3 rounds. The only reason Leno and Massie are starting is because nobody else on our teams deserves to start at tackle. With that we are a Bottom 5 team in both Passing and Running. After QB, OT is a position that very few organizations have let their player depart unless they are getting up there in age which makes it almost impossible to address this need via free agency. With our team, both of our OT positions are in need of upgrade. However, finding a day 1 starter at the LT position is going to be tougher due to the steep learning curve of being on the blindside. So were going to need to find a guy that can start immediately at RT or a swingtackle that can earn his starting position at LT within a year. Of those TEs listed, I definitely think that Hunter Henry is a FA that is worth the risk. With Kelce and Kittle being on the top tier, Henry is a player with the talent to be just below those two on the Ertz level. If we want to shortcut the TE development period, we will need to address this need via free agency. I also wouldn't mind getting Hooper but I think his ceiling is way below Henry's.

There were rumors about Ebron essentially overexaggerating his injuries this year in hopes to get to the offseason 110% and when Reich met the media a few weeks ago and confirmed they were true, I lost a lot of respect for Ebron. That's a ****ty thing to do and he comes off as a me me me guy. Keep in mind he still drops a lot of passes on the field. I'll pass on him. I'd rather roll the dice on Henry. BUT IT’S HARD TO LOOK AT HIS COLLEGE FILM AND NOT SEE, WOW, THIS GUY IS A VERY DYNAMIC, PLAYMAKING RECEIVER FROM A BIG TARGET STANDPOINT AND NATURAL HANDS.” We may not see a heavy investment in the TE position this offseason. I agree, but finding OTs in draft is hard. They are high demand. I think you need to go FA on OT if you aren't going to take one in first. I think we can look at Burton as the U with Horsted as the backup and be 'okay'. We have a huge, pornstar-sized gaping hole at the Y position that needs to be addressed. I don't care if that's via FA or the draft -- must be done.
