I think if anyone actually trades up into the top 10, picks 6-9 (nice) are probably the sweet spot

If you are trading up in this draft, you are doing it for a QB, CB, or WR, IMO. I think the top edge guys are gone early, as are the top tackles. Moving into the top 5 would cost a fortune, but if you want your choice of QBs, 5 is where you want to be (ahead of Carolina). If you want a WR, you want to jump Atlanta at 8 and the Jets at 10, so 7 and 9 are good spots. For corner, you want to jump the Giants, Falcons, Seahawks, Jets at 7-10, so 6 is the sweet spot.

So I'm saying 5-9, but yeah, I'm right there with you on that. I'd be surprised if we got movement before 5 honestly. But the 2nd half of the top 10 could be hectic.

I’m seeing some people justify Walker’s lack of production because of “what he was asked to do” and it reminds me a ton of Barkevious Mingo’s final year at LSU where his production wasn’t great and the reasoning was “what he was asked to do”

Mingo did not live up to the hype or draft slot. Still carved out a nice career. Just something to think about.

20 + 52 + 2nd rounder next year?

Depends if it is for a QB or not.

According to the traditional draft trade value chart, pick 7 is worth 1500.

20 + 52 + 2023 2nd = 850 + 380 + estimated 300 gets you to 1530, so that's about even if it is for a position player.

If it is for a QB, it's gonna be much more than that. To get to 11 from 20 last year, Chicago traded 20 + 164 + 2022 1st + 2022 4th, which equals about 1509 while pick 11 is worth 1250.

Pitt would probably have to include their 2023 first to move from 20 to 7.

You think the Giants GM is gonna be like “Are you taking a QB? If so, the price goes up”

The only reason trade ups for QBs have historically been expensive are because there’s usually a bidding war going on between multiple different teams. It’s not clear that bidding war exists in a weak QB class like this year.

I have 21 names instead of these 4 that they could pick and make themselves a better team.

Yeah, I know they are not picking Zion Johnson, et. al. but it would be glorious!

Haha I definitely don’t agree, but that’s the fun of this whole process!
