jimkelly02
Shilique Calhoun signed a $21M deal? He has .5 career sacks after 4 years! What was the Chargers GM thinking? Juston Burris who we signed for like 1 week got 13M? tell me these are like 10 year deals lol Edited February 14, 2020 by jimkelly02

DTMW78
@Mr Raider @Totty @OG_C2X @drfrey13 How do you guys feel about Compton starting at MLB? I was hoping he would be backing up Trevathan but I was outbid. From what I gather he was one of your better LBers last season. Nigel Bradham,Alec Ogletree, Vontaze Burfict, Josh Bynes, Michael Kendricks, Nick Vigil, Lerente McCray, Jatavis Brown still available. When he gets suspended again you have Compton to fall back on, but it should also be addressed in the draft.

Agree with this, he wouldn't be terrible but there are a few upgrades there. Lee and Morrow can be backup calibre players who can start in a pinch and if you can draft a stud to compliment Littleton and Compton that would be pretty good. If Compton is your least talented LB you're good. Last year he ended up being our best LB and that's an issue!

Nigel Bradham,Alec Ogletree, Vontaze Burfict, Josh Bynes, Michael Kendricks, Nick Vigil, Lerente McCray, Jatavis Brown still available. Compton would be a good backup for the right price. I would have zero issue with resigning Burfict but if we get the opportunity to draft a starting MLB I would not let him stop me. From what I have read Kendricks will not be ready for the start of the season. Bynes should not be on the field in passing downs and Vigil is not good against the run. I do not like spending that much on a MLB with the price of some of these guys. Would rather sign a couple guys I feel comfortable going into the season and drafting a replacement if the situation presents itself. As an example we sign Burfict, Compton, and draft Murray. Murray can play strongside with Burfict in the middle. We would still have a fall back plan in case of injury and suspension. In no way would I sign off on going into the season with only Compton. Could sign Kendricks and Burfict for a combined $4.5-5 million. 1 plays the first half of the season and the other the second half.
RaidersAreOne
We need an upgrade over Compton for sure. We can no longer be complacent with below average starters, especially at LB after so long.
Mr Raider
Agree with the rest. Compton is a good depth LB, but he shouldn't be starting. I wouldn't be against bringing him back at all, but I'd look at least another starting caliber vet, and possibly a first round selection if the right guy is there. If Compton is our third or fourth best LB the position might actually be a source of strength instead of the total Achilles heel it's been for years. Burfict makes a lot of sense, especially on paper in a mock. Should be cheap because of his history, has a ton of experience in our defense, has shown a high level of play in the past and was good for us last year. And we can still look to the draft to add a higher ceiling guy that can play alongside him and Littleton or take over for Burfict if injury or suspension hits.
