What movie are you watching?

Whatever you do, don't watch Jeepers Creepers: Reborn. I just watched it on Redbox and holy fock, it is one of the most painfully-dull movies I've ever seen in my life. It was a torturous drag getting through that movie. Dull, lifeless characters that do next-to-nothing for 90 minutes with really bad CGI and green screens thrown in for good (bad?) measure. Apparently the production team was so cheap that they couldn't even afford to use real grass, hence you have, I shyt you not, characters walking on really cheap CGI grass, and don't even get me started on the cheesy carnival scene, which also makes really bad use of green screen. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

I went to the IMDb reviews and was NOT shocked to find out people were walking out as little as 20 minutes in. Lord help you if you paid $10-12 to see this in theaters. The fact that someone actually sat down and wrote, directed and produced this without batting an eye or raising any objections is truly mindblowing.

Good or bad thing?

Good for the most part, liked some of the films that I was more down on.

Probably only real hit was disliking Goblet of Fire. Was one of my favorite books but had some issues with the film I don’t remember having.

The start of a really unfortunate period of horror imo.

Yep, I've never been a big fan of torture porn. Hostel, Human Centipede, Green Inferno, I Spit On Your Grave, Salo, A Serbian Film (I don't care about its supposed "commentary", it completely loses all its philosophical merit with the baby rape and tons of other shyt), etc., and I'm usually down to watch violent/disturbing films.

What do you mean by this? What’s there a lot of dumb movies like that during this time period?

I hate torture movies like this and kinda forgot how gruesome it was/ kind forgot it was torture horror. Haven’t seen it since it came out but I can honestly say I won’t ever watch it again. Can’t stand the Saw movies either.

It's really the start of the torture porn era which I think was an unfortunate time. Mostly hated those movies. I'm not a horror fanatic or anything, but I do enjoy them and this era was really hard to enjoy
