At this point in his career, what does this have to do with anything? Your draft status pretty much means nothing past the first couple of years. Judon is a vet at this point, and the fact that he can't separate himself for your average JAGs but wants to be paid a premium is not a good combination.

First off guy can ask for anything doesn't mean you pay him, right.

Secondly if you plan to make Judon your #1 rusher when thats clearly not his game is not his fault. He'll never be the Ngakoue this team misses.

Just saying its a problem of team building rather than individual effort. Getting pressure on the opposing QB, which he regularly does imo, is actually quite important iyam with a secondary as potent as ours.

Might as well just pre-load Mahomes with 400 passing yards next week because we ain't stopping that passing attack if Averett is on the field.

I wouldn't go that far. I trust Martindale to adapt and add a few wrinkles. Hiding coverages and exotic blitzes that can put Averrett in a position at attempting to succeed.

Because we all know it's going to lead to him playing a lot this upcoming weekend and possibly costing us a game?

Especially with a week to prep - as opposed to shifting roles mid-game - I'd be surprised if we don't see Jimmy and Peters on the boundaries with Humph in the slot like we did last year in nickel situations. Are we supposed to be trashing Harbaugh because the guy who went into the year as our #5 corner isn't amazing? What else is he supposed to do? The nature of injuries is that depth guys you probably would rather stayed on the bench end up playing more, not sure why anyone would expect it to help Averett if his coach trashes him in the press ahead of him having to take on a bigger role.

Obviously the Chiefs are going to force us into a lot of dime packages and Averett's gonna be on the field, unless we've secretly been carrying Jalen Ramsey on the roster without any of us noticing it's not a result of incompetence it's just what happens when injuries happen.
