I don't think it's really a win for small markets. He and Lillard are just built different than the rest of these guys who want/need to team up. I still think that's the way things will go in general.

Kirill
I've routinely seen Jrue Holiday lauded as the most underrated player in the league by guys who went up against him. But bruh the Bucks gave up 3 unprotected first round picks and a haul of players for this dude. Then Giannis resigns after a trade like that? I'm surprised. Giannis doesn't care about our 2027 first round pick.

As long as Giannis is on the roster, the picks are meaningless. And the haul of players were the Bucks worst playoff performer each of the last three years and George Hill. I like Bledsoe and Hill, but they aren’t a haul.

Hopefully Budenholzer is the answer at coach. I swear this dudes teams always overperform in the regular season then underperform in the playoffs. It's his rotations and drop coverage on defense. Coaches like Nurse, Carlisle and Spoelstra eat his lunch because of that. I'm hoping it's just a regular season thing going forward and he'll adjust to switching everything in the playoffs when it matters. I'll just say this, 2020-2021 is his last chance here. Now that Giannis secured the bag, it's less of a risk than it would've been firing him after the bubble.

They would eat most coaches lunches. But, yeah coaches overusing drop coverages is definitely perplexing. Doc Rivers did it with Harrell a ton when he probably shouldn’t have been. Drives us nuts, my friend. Especially when Willie Cauley-Stein out here hitting the same amount of 3s in a pre-season game as our two major minute 2 guards (DDV, Connaughton).
