I’m good with Leno if it’s cheap enough. Edited February 15, 2021 by kingseanjohn

Edit: I just looked him up real quick. good with Leno if it’s cheap enough. It's about on par for an average LT. Cheap year 1, flexible on year 2; but would be easy to get out of year 2. I think it'd be alright to fill a spot for a year, possibly 2. I do have a pretty good reserve bid on Taco, hoping to bring him and Tanoh both back this round. I don't have a lot of hope of getting Price Tega back, I offered quite a bit, but honestly I'm not looking to shell out a ton of $$ to a guy we have only as a future contract IRL. KC_Guy
We'll see how it goes. Would like to look at CB as well ... but hopefully someone will be there next round or in the draft. Go for it.

There’s still about 10 guys there, all still pretty pricey. I think a good bunch will slip to the next round, Breeland still has no offers, as well as a lot of the others. onejayhawk
At least we have a warm body at C. TK is important. Leno is meh, but OK at the price. I look for him to back up Niang. I have hopes for Rodney Clemons for the real life team, so this is nice. J

The key will be drafting competition so he isn’t forced to start.
onejayhawk
He won't be forced to start. We have Remmers to start at RT and Niang to start at LT. It's not ideal, but I have seen worse in my years following the Chiefs. PTW is the developmental prospect on the real team. We may lose him here, but that is the sort of player we should be targeting. J
KC_Guy
So what do the numbers stand for? 19 M$ seem a bit much for someone you consider a backup OT (who btw started all games this year) ...

Year 2 is high, we could move on it we choose. I would pencil Leno in as starting LT. He’s currently the best OT on the roster. I wouldn’t pencil Niang in as a starter, hasn’t played in almost 2 years. He’s backing up Remmers at his natural RT spot, with the opportunity to take it from Remmers. I wouldn’t consider LT solved though, Leno is a better version of Remmers at LT. Now it’s all about getting him competition. onejayhawk
I am good with that for now. The one thing I'll say is that the team likely thinks Niang is a LT candidate. Making him the swing for a year is perfect sense. Kilgore and Alegretti fight it out for starting C, with Darryl Williams as the darkhorse. Getting TK means DE can be a project, say Janarius Robinson or the two from Notre Dame. Look at the list of R/F players. How may 4th and 5th rounders will be better than what we have? OT Prince Tega WanaghoC Darryl WilliamsWR Maurice FfrenchWR Jody FortsonTE Evan Bayliss DE Austin EdwardsLB Omari Cobb LB Emmanuel SmithS Rodney Clemons

I’d guess quite a few players in the draft will have equal or greater value. Baylis and Clemons to me have the best chance to make the roster, Prince Tega maybe... but he came into the league with work ethic issues and hasn’t done anything to change that

RedGold
@kingseanjohn I was able to pull Isaiah Hodgins and Antoine Wesley from Waivers. I think I remember you liking both of them. It looks like he just added the PS players at the end of the year. Soo two things: Prince Tega-Wanogho & Evan Baylis, we didn't get. Will have to bid on them if we want them. Cuts: Matt Moore, Stefen Wisniewski, Danny Isidora. All are calculating into the Top 51 and are not with the team currently. Do we want to cut them? It'd only free up about 600k total, but none of them really make sense at the bottom of a roster going into the offseason.... possibly later if we don't bring in better depth.
