KC_Guy
just checked: 11 draft picks for the Chiefs: 1-31 2-63 3-83 3-94 4-143 5-163 5-175 5-179 6-201 6-215 7-245 That's a lot of ammo ...
onejayhawk
That's more a lot of picks than a lot of ammo. I'd much prefer more and better day two picks. Still, picking up S or shotgunning WR is doable. J
RedGold
Ehhh you really want Jeffery? His knees are held together by scotch tape, not even sure he runs a 4.90 40 anymore. I'll do it, I think they're better options though. Honestly I'd probably rather give Demarcus Robinson a 5 year deal, he's a better player and the year 1 cap hit would only be slightly higher. Golden Tate Tyrell Williams Demarcus Robinson Would be the top 3 WR's I'd target. I'll do Jeffrey, but he's been dogpoo for awhile now and with his knees I don't think it's a product of his QB plays. Okafor's SB is still too high to sign on a 1 year deal also. We'd be paying him 700k regardless if he'd make the roster. This is what we have left to work with.. $3,142,005 Depth Chart Offense Position Number 1 Number 2 Number 3 Number 4 Number 5 QB 1954 - Patrick Mahomes - QB 0406 - Chad Henne - QB 0134 - Anthony Gordon - QB 1353 - Jordan Ta'amu - QB RB 0493 - Clyde Edwards-Helaire - RB 0592 - Damien Williams - RB 0649 - Darrel Williams - RB 0660 - Darwin Thompson - RB WR 2423 - Tyreek Hill - WR 0151 - Antonio Callaway - WR 1813 - Maurice Ffrench - WR WR 1770 - Mecole Hardman - WR 2027 - Ray-Ray McCloud - WR 0409 - Chad Williams - WR 0928 - Gehrig Dieter - WR TE 2333 - Travis Kelce - TE 1064 - Jacob Hollister - TE 1900 - Nick Keizer - TE LT 0417 - Charles Leno Jr. - LT 1723 - Martinas Rankin - LT LG 1886 - Nick Allegretti - LG C 0615 - Daniel Kilgore - C 0679 - Darryl Williams - C RG 1612 - Laurent Duvernay-Tardif - RG 2500 - Yasir Durant - RG RT 1820 - Mike Remmers - RT 1651 - Lucas Niang - RT 2044 - Prince Tega-Wanagho - RT WR 1015 - Isaiah Hodgins - WR 0148 - Antoine Wesley - WR 1274 - Jody Fortson - WR Position Number 1 Number 2 Number 3 Number 4 Number 5 LDE 2248 - Tanoh Kpassagnon - 43DE 1803 - Mike Danna - 43DE LDT 0452 - Chris Jones - 43DT 2290 - Tershawn Wharton - 43DT RDT 0756 - Derrick Nnadi - 43DT 1540 - Khalen Saunders - 43DT 1391 - Josh Tupou - 43DT RDE 0906 - Frank Clark - 43DE 2238 - Taco Charlton - 43DE 2304 - Tim Ward - 43DE 0755 - Demone Harris - 43DE LOLB 2483 - Willie Gay, Jr. - 43OLB 2242 - Tahir Whitehead - 43OLB 0812 - Dorian O'Daniel - 43OLB ILB 0136 - Anthony Hitchens - ILB 0640 - Darius Harris - ILB 0870 - Emmanuel Smith - ILB ROLB 0593 - Damien Wilson - 43OLB 1990 - Omari Cobb - 43OLB CB 0423 - Charvarius Ward - CB 0817 - Dre Kirkpatrick - CB 2294 - Thakarius Keyes - CB 0063 - Alex Brown - CB SS 2419 - Tyrann Mathieu - S 1397 - Joshua Kalu - S 0160 - Armani Watts - S FS 1405 - Juan Thornhill - S 2139 - Rodney Clemons - S CB 1589 - L'Jarius Sneed - CB 2014 - Rashad Fenton - CB 0468 - Chris Lammons - CB I was thinking: LB Ben Niemann - 0 Signing Bonus, Vet Min. Perfect to compete for depth TE Deon Yelder - 0 Signing Bonus, Vet Min. Him and Keizer can be 4/5 on the depth chart, leaves room for a rookie.. yet if we don't find one at least they know the system. WR - Up for debate. I like Golden Tate personally.. He holds a vet spot, and can even slide into the slot if Hardman doesn't come around. Tyrell Williams would 2nd on my list. But I'll leave it up to you guys. Don't want to spend it all, would still really like to get Sorensen back.
onejayhawk
Whitehead removes the need for Niemann. Keizer and Yelder were blockers and weren't even full time blockers. Pass. J
RedGold
Fine with me. I’m not bidding on Okafor until his SB disappears though. Doesn’t make any sense to have 5 DE’s, 4 pretty average locked into the roster. He can come back if we can cut him later for no penalty. onejayhawk
Calling Taco average is a stretch. He's a 15 play specialist. J
RedGold
Calling either Taco or Okafor average is probably a stretch. It still makes no sense to have Signing Bonuses attached to all 5 DE's. We'd be locking the same 5 guys onto the 53, at a position we weren't all that good at to begin with, leaves no room to improve. We aren't rolling with 6 DE's on the active roster. onejayhawk
Robinson I agree. Not so sure about Tate and Williams. 5 hours ago, samsel23 said: Calling either Taco or Okafor average is probably a stretch. It still makes no sense to have Signing Bonuses attached to all 5 DE's. Okafor is average for a rotation DE, maybe a touch better. Still, he's a poor man's Ogbah, who would be really nice here, but... J
Bullyball
How about Josh Reynolds from the LA Rams?
KC_Guy
We probably should start discussing our first draft picks. From what I get fromrecent discussions for the first round (positionwise) we are looking at: C, DE (1st priority) WR, CB, OT, LB (lower priority) Correct? Good thought, he signed with Tennessee for 5 years, 40-50 Mil last round. Was hoping he'd last a few more rounds.
RedGold
I have; WR Golden Tate DE Austin Edwards - No affect on cap TE Evan Baylis - No affect on cap Tyrell Williams and Demarcus Robinson still aren't low enough to not put us in the negative. We can probably get Alson Jeffrey next round, or the one after if we want to go that route. His SB is still pretty high for what he's been doing recently. I think we should be good to start bidding on Daniel Sorensen next round. If we go WR, he'll put us in the negative this round. I have put our first round pick on the block, seeing if there's any interest in trading up. Doubt we'll get any offers for awhile, but will definitely filter offers through you all. Hope is to package it will some of those later picks and pick up a couple more mid rounders.
KC_Guy
So, let's take a look at a few positions. I have no clue about College players, thus I picked a random big board of 200 players. Guess that should be good enough for the first 3 rounds. Let me know where you think a) a player is out of reach and b) you wouldn't even consider him Round 1 - 3. OC: 40 Creed Humphrey Oklahoma 59 Landon Dickerson Alabama 76 Josh Myers Ohio State 107 Drake Jackson Kentucky 123 Trey Hill Georgia 130 Quinn Meinerz UW-Whitewater 167 Jimmy Morrissey Pitt 188 Michal Menet Penn State Confirms what I saw in other boards: The top OC is borderline 1st round, and there should be some decent players in the third. OC is draftwise an undervalued position. Surprised to see Meinerz in the 4th round, other have him as high as first half of the 2nd. I have no clue which OG might be able to move to OC. DE: 16 Gregory Rousseau Miami (FL) 21 Kwity Paye Michigan 30 Azeez Ojulari Georgia 37 Joseph Ossai Texas 48 Jayson Owe Penn State 51 Carlos Basham Jr. Wake Forest 60 Jaylen Twyman Pitt 64 Jaelan Phillips Miami (FL) 67 Patrick Jones II Pitt 70 Darius Stills West Virginia 72 Joe Tryon Washington 88 Hamilcar Rashed Oregon State 91 Quincy Roche Miami (FL) 109 Dayo Odeyingbo Vanderbilt 116 Rashad Weaver Pitt 121 Chris Rumph II Duke 152 Jordan Smith UAB 158 Wyatt Hubert Kansas State 161 Malik Herring Georgia 162 Daelin Hayes Notre Dame 166 Shaka Toney Penn State 179 Joshua Kaindoh Florida State 183 Victor Dimukeje Duke 198 Malcolm Koonce Buffalo Combined Edge and 5t for this list. No clue who is who. However, looking at the TCMD depth chart we have Clark, Kpassagnon, Okafor, Danna and Ward. If we want significant improvement we probably have to go here early. More positions to follow. Edited February 25, 2021 by KC_Guy
