Vhager is the biggest living dragon, but vermithor isn’t far behind. ScreenCrush released a video today as well on the dragons up to end of HOTD 1. Hmm, as others have said this doesn't seem super accurate for a few of them. The order is probably right for the most part, but not the scale. Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion would definitely be higher based on where they ended up in the show. Drogon about the size of Vermithor; Rhaegal and Viserion about the size of Caraxes and Meleys. You see it when Rhaeneys escaped. He’s also the only Westerosi post Conquest Dragon that originated from old Valyria. The rest were birthed on Dragonstone. Far and away the most powerful Dragon and largest in known history. King Viserys was his last rider when he was a prince but he was so old by that point that it wasn’t really something they wanted to risk anymore because he was pretty frail. He was at least 200 years old before death. Could have been much older depending on how long he lived in the Valyrian freehold

Aegon literally could stand on the head of Balerion with two feet. He’s basically a 747. The show just made Dany’s dragons much bigger than they are. Book dragons and show dragons aren't the same sizes. I didn't watch the video, but assumed it was show dragons. If it's just for the books then it's more accurate because as you said Dany's dragons in the books aren't nearly as big as they were in the show, at least not yet. Crazy to think how small Daenerys’ dragons were in comparison to other dragons. Syrax towered over Drogon…

Thinking how much easier the fight against the whitewalkers would’ve been if the Targaryen’s would’ve stayed on task and kept going strong, along with the Velaryon‘s.

Part of the long term issue, IMO - the legend that was inscribed on the Cat’s Paw knife and passed on to Rhanerya was lost during this war. Literally the only person who knows of this upcoming storm is Rhanerya, and even when told - Daemon doesn’t care, the dragons are a mean to his end, not a solution to a problem 150 years from now. I’d say Syrax and Caraxas would be enough to lay waste to the NK, the rest of those dragons would have been overkill.
Jeezla
That chart always bugged me because not only do the sizes not scale right, the colors are off on like 75% of the dragons based on their source descriptions. Tessarion should be a sight to behold when they finally introduce her in the show. Also the last dragon (Not Leeroy Jenkins) was the size of a house cat, but that chart has it around the same size as a horse. And technically it should be the Artist formerly known as the Last Dragon, since Drogon is actually the last dragon. seminoles1
More cost cutting. They can say whatever they want about it being for the story, but knowing WBD's decision making these last 6 months, it's clearly about saving money. Between this and losing the show runner...I'm worried.
