What we know about the vaccine and Delta so far:

So exactly how effective are the vaccines against this new, more dangerous iteration of the virus? And how long does immunity provided by the vaccines actually last?

We are finally starting to get some concrete answers to these questions. The vaccines did appear to lose some of their effectiveness in preventing any kind of illness as the delta variant became dominant, especially for people who are at highest risk from Covid-19. But the protection against severe illness held steady, according to the three CDC studies published this week.

Hopefully this encourages his former listeners to get vaccinated.

I hope so. And I hope the message below gets out.

"This is a real threat, it is a real public health crisis and it is something that if he had to do over again ... his cavalier attitude wouldn't have been what it was and he would have gotten vaccinated and encouraged everybody to get vaccinated," he added.

We should stow any talk of politcs but if even he has lost control of that rabble we are doomed.

A lot of people seem to think the only reason Republicans are against the vaccine is because he is.  I don't think he's ever been against the vaccine and only against forced vaccination.  Maybe he hasn't been a strong enough proponent of it always.

Not trying to be political but I does it hurt to try to figure out why people are against the vaccine?  I don't think it's because a certain person said to be

When you’re the person who let the animals out of the zoo, people are gonna blame you when the lion eats a baby.  Even if you told it to play nice.

He was against COVID 19 and the medical community (mainly, the CDC) in the first place. He 100% sewed doubt in the entirety of the process, so when that same "enemy" (the medical community) start recommending vaccines, the people who followed him are, of course, going to resist that.

Couple that with him literally never advocating for the vaccine or vaccination or social distancing or masks, and you have the animal that is now turning against all Republicans and can't be controlled. We are absolutely ****ed as a country because of how much damage his administration (and he personally) did in 2020 with how they portrayed COVID publicly while behind closed doors they all took it seriously and then all got vaccinated the first chance they got.

Fun little COVID story that just happened.

I joined a new co-ed softball team with my Fiancee, and they started a group chat for the new season. Yesterday someone jokingly said "City is mandating being vaccinated in order to play in this league" and immediately like 3-4 people on the GC were like "Nope I'm out" and got pretty heated over it until someone said it was a joke and that's not actually the case.

A few texts later, someone says "team bonding at <the local casino>!" and those same people literally said "No, I can't go out tonight, I got the 'rona". Literally. The. Same. People.
