He's essentially another Brandan Wright with more defensive versatility. 90% of the centers nowadays will absolutely dominate him down low, on the glass, defending him, etc... If he could improve his defense protecting the paint/rim, he’d be the ultimate mismatch at C. Ideally for the 76ers Embiid stays healthy, but if he sustains another serious injury, Simmons has all the physical tools to dominate at the position. I've watched nearly every legit center we've played against just brush him aside like he's a a twig or a straw, or garbage or a piece of ****. I think he's a power forward in this league.
