Last HB Mock Draft of Pandemic

I took today and tomorrow off to get the 2nd vaccine, so with my spare time I made a new mock draft lol. Let's get to business, I did a PFN Mock Draft simulator, and signed Karl Joseph FS in free agency. Thoughts? I'm all ready for the draft!

17. Caleb Farley CB, Virginia Tech - I went BPA. this guy has elite ceiling, he could be a Elite CB1(injuries are scary). I take that risk and don't draft scary. He is a baller, he could also play FS if he needed him there. Could slide Arnette to slot I guess, I go BPA

Alternative: Parsons LB, Surtain CB, Phillips DE, Paye DE, JOK LB, Horn CB,

48. Gregory Rousseau DL, Miami - he's too raw for a 1st rounder, but I'll take him all day as a 2nd. He has all the traits, is young, and and good athlete. He would have be coached up but has star potential. He can help with interior pressure as a rookie. Needs to be coached up on better technique. We have a legit chance to add to solid prospects to our work defense. Levi and Barmore were drafted before the pick, or I would have went after them. FROM THE U

Alternative: Phillips DE, ODEYINGBO EDGE, Payton Turner DE, Boogie Basham DE, Ojulari Edge, Oweh Edge, Tyron Edge, C Rumph Edge, Ossai Edge, J Davis LB, Holland S, J Johnson S, Molden S, Moehrig S

79. Spencer Brown OT, Northern Iowa - really like him as a prospect. I was torn between him and Walker Little, but can't go wrong. He can pair with Kolton Miller to take on the tackle spot for awhile. 3rd seems to be a sweet spot in a stacked tackle class. We attack OL here

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/spencer-brown/32004252-4f69-0310-bf53-14b54a182555

Alternatives: Walker Little T, FORSYTHE T, Radunz T,  Eichenberg T, Radunz T, Leatherwood T, Mayfield T, J Hudson T, A Banks G, W Davis G, T Smith G

80. Jay Tufele IDL, USC- early in the draft process I liked him as a late first rounder. He is an elite athlete, who demanded a double team in college. I like him as NT in the pros, and he can actually be a NT who generates some pressure. We could save money by letting Hankins walk, could provide depth as a rookie. 3rd is a sweet spot for DT, attack the defense with more talent. YET AGAIN

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jay-tufele/32005455-4610-3822-e3e9-dc3d8ed22b4d

Alternative: Shelvin, McNeil, M Wilson, D Nixon, B Brown, K Twyman, M Williams DT,Holland S, J Johnson S, Molden S, Holland S, J Johnson S, Molden S, R Grant FS, McGrone LB, Browning LB, Cox LB, Surratt LB, Moses LB, Werner LB, Snowden LB, S Wade FS, R Rochel CB, K Joseph CB, A Robinson CB, Adebo CB, A Thomas CB, Deablo LB

121. Deonte Brown IOL, Alabama - attacking the trenches again with another solid prospect.  Good might be a shortt term answer at RG, Brown mauled people in SEC. a few different options for an interior prospect. Brown dropped in this mock and likely to go in late 3rd-4th but could be a Gabe long term replacement.

Alternatives: J Carmen G, T Smith G, B Cleveland G, Leatherwood G,  R Newman G, J Hocker G, D Moore G, C Ashley T/G, J Bell T, S Wade FS, K Green G, Hucherson G, R Jones G

162. Caden Sterns S, Texas - I prolly get roasted for waiting to draft a Safety. I really like Stearns on day 3. I just would rather go BPA to help the defense and then take care of the trenches over reaching for a need. Stearns has range, and was highly regarded at one time. He battles injuries and play a bit inconsistent. I'll take a shot on him

Alternatives: R Lecounte S, MUKUAMU S(think he be a good convert),  J Wiggins S, A Washington S,  T Thompson S, Uphoff S,  P Ford S, S Wade FS, J Smith Edge, DIMUKEJE edge, ST-JUSTE CB/S, B Thompson S

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/caden-sterns/32005354-4556-9819-8045-ee676cf6baa3

 167. Kary Vincent Jr. S, LSU - Bradley is known for developing late DBs. I think Vincent makes for a good FS convert. He was solid at LSU but teams question if he is a CB on the next level, he has experience playing FS in college. I think Heath/Joseph can hold it down for a year with a better scheme and pass rush, and then let Stearns and Vincent battle to be FS of the future. Would be 2deep at safety too.

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/kary-vincent-jr/32005649-4e43-5447-4127-1ba2d0b8cf99

Alternatives: R Lecounte S, MUKUAMU S(think he be a good convert),  J Wiggins S, A Washington S,  T Thompson S, Uphoff S,  P Ford S, R Blakenship S, Gillespie S,

200. Josh Ball OT, Marshall - We would currently only have 3 OTs: Miller, 3rd Rounder, Parker. Parker is in the last year of his deal, and probably walk for a chance to start somewhere in 2022. Josh Bell could provide depth as a developmental Swing tackle. He actually has starting LT potential, but has character concerns. Can't go wrong with OL depth.  went with a good prospect, willingly to go BPA with the last draft spot.

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/josh-ball/32004241-4c50-1948-d003-0543c0165523

Alternative: Hamilcar Edge,  Garrett Edge, C Ashley T/G, J Patterson RB, J Jefferson RB, R Stevenson RB, J Hawkins RB, C Hubbard RB, Josh Palmer WR, Cornell Powell WR, Josh Imatorbhebhe WR, SMITH-MARSETTE WR, Tutu Atwell WR, Fehoko WR, Newman QB, Mond QB, E Smith DE, D Hodge Edge, C Garrett Edge,

UDFA: I'll pick 5 positions/prospects we can target, half a practice squad

Felipe Franks QB - nice developmental QB, has all the traits and some talent. Not a perfect prospect at all, which is why I think will go Undraft and could maybe develop into a QB2

Stevie Scott RB- Big Physical RB, has good size, one cut back with a mean streak. Could find a spot, always interesting undrafted Rbs

James Darden WR- he's small but has EXPLOSIVE SPEED. Deep WR class, going be a few good WR go Undrafted. I like Darden because he is skilled, and has return ability. Could push Zay Jones for 6th wideout or make PS

Pro Wells TE- former basketball player worth a shot as a development TE depth, Carrier probably in his last season. Looking for a developmental TE with athletic ability

Mustafa Johnson/MARQUISS SPENCER DL- valley kid, might go undrafted due to size. Has some skill to rush the passer, and Is an athlete. I also like Spencer alot

100 alternatives per pick lol

like the ot in round 3 tho

Humble in praise and Humble in defeat. But finally got a chance to look at a lot of prospects, and a big board for each round. I listed my favorite prospects in each round. Or prospects that dropped, I would be all over

Props on keeping the mocks to 2 frfr it makes a difference. I can’t see us going cb in the first.

we play in a division with Mahomes, Herbert and Broncos might get a stud. We need DBS, and Farley has all pro potential. The DT class sucks and would be a reach, we addressed edge rush in free agency. I would consider LB like Parsons, or JOK.

I actually like mocks with potential alternative picks. Keeps a general realism to the picks and who some targets could be if the chosen player is already gone and how folks value them.

Mock with a bunch of alternative players every round. By your own admission you don't watch college football and it shows in the lack of conviction on a single player.

One thing to have 1 or 2 alternates. But this has the feel of throw everyone out there so I can say "I had him in my mock draft" and "he was my guy" which is very on brand.

Without all the alternatives, I'd give it a C. The two biggest needs are FS and RT and neither is adequately addressed here with a player who can start day 1.

I went with long term potential to help turn around the D. I listed alternatives with alot of names as a big board of where I value the prospects. read up on alot of guys yesterday. I'm usually not a guy to brag about the past. btw

Caleb Farley at #17 is a huge risk with the back injury concerns and I doubt that Rosseau makes it all the way to #48.

And we take a small school devy OT and free safety in the 5th round.

This draft is just too boom or bust. If Rousseau and Farley bust (injuries are a mega concern with him, wouldn't touch him in the 1st) , you lose your job.

Love Farley. Only corner I like in the 1st. But the injury scares the heck out of me as well. Not saying I wouldn’t pull the trigger on him, but I just don’t know if I’d be able to do it. The Raiders over the years have made me so Anti-Risk in the 1st lmao.

The fact that he had back surgery last off-season, sat out the entire season, and recently had another back surgery is a major red flag.
