Simmons had the benefit of it being years before he got drafted. He also had a lot of people vouch for him since that incident. Apparently this took place a couple weeks ago. Add on Isiah Wilson. Simmons also had the reasoning behind his of defending his sister. Doesn't quite justify a 6'4 300+ pound man beating a woman, but it at least lets you understand what was going through his head. If what's reported here is true and Weaver really said "fine with beating a woman if they deserve it" statement really happened..geeze..
