The latest piece of information, stemming from Incognito's run-in at a funeral home, is the darkest: the former Bills offensive lineman wanted to cut his deceased father's head off. Incognito was detained and arrested at a Scottsdale, Arizona funeral home, where his father's funeral was being held earlier this week. At various points of his time at the funeral home, he threatened to return to his car, get guns out of the car and shoot employees of the funeral home if they didn't allow him access to the proceedings and his father's body. Incognito wanted to cut off his dead father's head in order to research what was inside. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/police-report-richie-incognito-wanted-to-cut-off-his-dead-fathers-head-at-funeral-home/ Well then...ain't that a way to lose one's head? Ba-dum-dum.
RpMc
Yeah, didn’t like him in the first. Total project player, but we’ve done well with a few of those.
The Gnat
I mean, with Incagnito, who hasn't wanted to do that? Seems like an overreaction by me, just give him the head.
vike daddy
The Rams and defensive tackle Aaron Donald, the reigning NFL defensive player of the year, remain on the verge of a deal that will make him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, per a source with knowledge of the situation. But the deal still isn’t done, presumably because one or both sides is hoping to squeeze out one or more last-minute concessions. The expectation is that the contract will be in the neighborhood of $22 million per year, with as much as $80 million guaranteed (total guarantee, not fully guaranteed) at signing. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/08/26/rams-aaron-donald-remain-on-verge-of-record-setting-deal/
swede700
What, so they're only going to try to compete for 1 year? That's an awfully large amount for a defensive player...I don't care how good you are, I can't expend that much on a guy who isn't a QB.

swede700
Alan Page's contract would be tremendous...he didn't even have free agency either until he was released. But, I wonder what position he would actually play, and whether he even had the frame to bulk up to what he'd need to do to play inside these days. Page and Randle were both undersized DT's during their playing days...but the thing that made both of them great, and that they had in common was their blazing quickness coming off the snap of the ball! I still believe that speed kills in the NFL. The other thing they had in common was that they were absolutely relentless in trying to get to the QB. Randle used his shortness to get leverage on the guards he usually faced who were several inches taller. Very unusual. Page played a lot bigger than his 245 pounds! vike daddy
Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that Odell Beckham has agreed to a five-year, $95 million contract with the team. She reports that $65 million of the money is guaranteed. An annual average salary of $19 million per year would put him ahead of Antonio Brown for the most of any receiver. The total guaranteed money would also put him ahead of the league’s other wideouts. UPDATE: The deal has $5 million of the $95 million total value is in the form of incentives. Also his $8.4 million salary for this year is part of a deal that will cover the next six years in total at $98.4 million in base total value, so the average annual salary for the overall deal comes in at $16.4 million while the new money average is $18 million per season. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/08/27/report-odell-beckham-agrees-to-five-year-95-million-contract/?cid=eref:nbcnews:text

Remember, I don't believe the OL he faced were near as big as they are today either. So if you look at proportions, it might not be that much of a difference between then and now. SemperFeist
Meh. The owners is this league have undoubtedly done worse. If he gets cut over this, and avoids jail time, I’d easily bring him in. Edited August 29, 2018 by SemperFeist
