That game is a back breaker for the Hawks.   They played about as well as hoped for 38-40 mins.    Trae getting hurt and losing the game is a massive double whammy.    Realistically it was always going to be a tall task to win 4 vs. MIL but a hampered Trae really drops their chances of even winning 1 more.

The Bucks did look tired this game.   But Middleton’s heroics gave them the boost they needed.    The Hawks’ depth helped them a ton (Okoro & Gallinari gave them a much needed boost last night), and if Trae was OK, this would be their best hope to keep wearing on the Bucks’ big 3.    But that’s based on Trae being a complete threat.    If PHX wins tonight then MIL will want to close this out as quickly as possible.

it was always an extreme longshot and this game hurts whatever chances they had, but if (and its a big if) Trae is totally healthy, i dont necessarily think it was there best chance. MIddleton isnt going to go crazy like that again most likely, and outside of maybe Gallo no one really out played expectations. However, it was always an extremely tall task, again, assuming Trae is healthy then Tuesday is an absolute must win.

To be clear, I was referring to the Hawks' depth & Trae being a complete threat as their best chance to win 4 out of 7 - not that game 3 was their best chance to win a game (although it was a lost opp for sure, the path was there until Trae got hurt & Middleton got hot in the 4Q).   If Trae is healthy, they could very well win game 4.  If he's not, though...those odds just got a lot longer.
