My Dad was able to play golf for awhile following his surgery but most of his strength was gone. He was lucky if he could hit a drive 200 yards and he hit 5 woods where I might use a a 6 or 7 iron. In my case I've been told without back surgery I'll never play golf again......so I won't. Because eventually my Dad's back got far far worse. So no knife for me. All we're gonna know at this point is there's an 80% chance he can play again provided he takes his rehab seriously but we won't know how well he can play and what effect all of this may have on his core strength until much later. We may never see the kind of brute strength he showed in college or an ability bend enough to be effective on the edge. He's not an OT and his Sacks, Hits, and TFLs have declined each year since 2017. Age 29 and he's half the player he once was. All I'm saying is no back surgery is ever simple just as no heart surgery is ever simple or risk free and few recover from them 100%. I think you need to go back and look at his stats again. Not saying his back isn't affecting him at all but your first sentence is false. The only one where he declined every season like you said was hits, it's right in everything you just showed. TFL, Sacks, and tackles were all higher last season compared to the previous season.
