agarcia34
Wizards fans and front office should thank the Lakers every day for being dumb enough to make that trade.

It brings me so much joy. I still can't fathom how so many people with veto power could have possibly fallen for Westbrook and voted "Yes" on that trade.

agarcia34
Wizards got out of that John Wall contract. Took on Westbrook contact then was able to move him for 3 players that are playing big roles for their team and all can be moved easily if needed. Big win for the Wizards front office.

Supersuavesky
Apparently Hawks fans were chanting 'Overrated' at us? I didn't know we even were rated.

Kuzma said that he thought the deal sending him to Sacramento was already finished. The front office wanted Buddy but LeGM wanted Russ and he won. They were also able to land Dinwiddie and convince Beal to stay. Basically every team Russ has played for improved immediately as soon as they moved on.

Russ contract will be almost impossible to move because they have no assets that they can attach with him to dump his contract. And having Russ, AD, and LeBron on max deals basically guarantees that they won't really be able to retool or add to their roster unless they're signing guys to vet min contracts. The Lakers essentially have no flexibility until 2023 when Russ contract expires but LeBron will also be a free agent and AD can opt out of his deal as well. And even if they're able to free up cap space for the 2023 off-season there aren't really any stars that are set to hit the market. This is the LeBron/Klutch Sports way though. Anywhere he has ever gone has almost immediately traded away all of their young talent and draft capital to pursue guys at the twilight of their careers. Which has resulted in those teams being terrible as soon as LeBron dipped for greener pastures.

Only flaw was trading #21 for Aaron Holiday, but still a huge net positive overall.

Never underestimate their ability to land stars.

TheRealMcCoy
That week and going forward is jam packed. They have the Grizzlies the 23rd and Suns on Christmas, then back to back against the Nuggets. Followed by Jazz, Heat and Mavs.
