Here’s the clip from the podcast. Both Wolfson and Zulgad make it pretty clear that a change at coach is what they are hearing most, but that some ground work has been made on a possible switch at GM.

Zimmer out as head coach is almost all but guaranteed at this point. I would still lean on betting that Spielman is back. I can’t say I necessarily agree with it. But that’s the feeling I get.

Judd Zulgad reported this on his radio show on Friday.

Well that is great, but it would be curious who a billionaire owner would get to research such things.  Who would they talk to for information on what guys are good as potential GM.  That would be a curious process.  Honestly all most do is just hey this team was good last year and have collected some big time talent, who is there GM.

Yeah duh Andrew Berry on the Cleveland Browns is an up and coming GM based on the talent he has collected.  Eric DeCosta is a standout GM considering the injuries they have had on that team and how they continue to be a solid club and win games.

Just would be curious who would be advising the Wilf's.

Don’t they usually a hire an executive search firm. I’m sure there’s someone that is known in NFL circles, especially for individuals who want to be a GM.

I am sure they do, it still comes down to who is on that executive search firm and where do they come from.  Are they former NFL coaches or GMs that just want to be a little involved still?  Either way must be a pretty sweet gig, just follow coaches careers/GM careers or scout careers/player careers and see who could be good for an organization in leadership roles when ultimately everyone only gets hired when the team has successful and that is pretty much it.

It's not like The Wilfs don't know anyone on the inside of The NFL.  They have some contact with Bill Parcells, and other ex-Giants' management, who they could use as the start of their network for finding out which GM worthy candidates might be available after this season ends.  They could be referred by their contacts to people on the inside who could give rundowns on their abilities and maybe recommend a few candidates, and they might even have contacts to facilitate meetings with them after The Superbowl is over, or even before the playoffs, if their current team's season is already over.

What are your sources on this?  Because yeah the last few drafts four years they only have two super star players, Justin Jefferson and Brian O'Neill and even O'Neill is a big question mark if he is even a Pro bowl level player honestly.

2018 class they only have 2 players left on the team out of 8
2019 they only have 7 players out of 12 and that is counting Bisi when most likely he will be cut next year
2020 is not bad but Gladney obviously did not turn out and Dantzler probably will not make it either
2021 seems good Darrisaw who could be something and Nwangwu has been impressive and Cam Bynum looked decent in short time but...

They just need a change honestly because cannot fire all the players.

Doogie Wolfson of Minneapolis-St.Paul NBC-TV Sports reported on Skor North, that his sources informed him that The Wilfs have already started looking into potential GM candidates that will be available after this season ends.  That doesn't mean that they have definitely decided to fire Spielman, but implies that they want to get an early start, to have the best potential field from which to choose, IF they decide to change the GM along with the coach.  But he said that it is pretty clear that Zimmer won't be back next season.
