AkronsWitness
Vikings needed a shakeup badly. They have become sort of a treadmill team in recent years. Don't understand Speilman but Zimmer is probably rightfully gone
y*so*blu
This is absolutely the right move IMO. If Zimmer couldn't get the Vikings to a Super Bowl with that defense they had in '17, it was never going to happen. Just like his GM and his quarterback, he was consistently okay; never flat-out bad, but never good enough to get the team over the hump.

Don't understand Speilman but Zimmer is probably rightfully gone Spielman has been here since the mid 2000s. He’s not bad at all, just seems to be more of a desire to get a fresh set of leaders. Spielman shouldn’t have a problem of finding work but let’s not pretend he’s been stellar as of late. He’s had some bad drafts and that has certainly contributed to the lack of talent on the defensive side of the ball.

If Minnesota wins that game, we very likely win the division. Zimmer was a good coach, but the message got old and it was just time to move on. It will be interesting to see him and McCarthy together, perhaps!

When a young coach with one third of your tenure pretty much schools you three years in a row, you need to show him some respect. Zim was a good (not great, but still good) coach, but it was time for him to go. This, along with the comments he made about Kellen Mond last week, are further proof that his time had come and gone.
