Like, what do you do? There needs to be serious discussion internally if McDermott should still be the coach, yes. At MINIMUM you take his defensive playcalling away and make him get a real coaching staff on that side not just his buddies. I, personally, would fire him, I think he's maxed out, I think he makes too many of the exact same mistakes, I think sticking with "good enough" just because "well we're the Bills" is the worst possible thing you can decide to do.
Thelonebillsfan
Either coaching is the problem or the Bills just flat out don't have ANYTHING resembling the talent on defense to stop anybody with a pulse and if that's the case then they're not winning anything anyway. SkippyX
So, I was in the Bay Area when Hue Jackson got fired. It may have been the single most deserved firing in NFL History. The guy literally staged a coup in a press conference. (I watched it live) He attempted to gain emergency powers over all the things. In a press conference. He was a meh coach, and a cancerous employee. He was garbage in Cleveland after that.
iknowcool
Phenomenal game, but that defense by the Bills on that 13-second drive was ugly. I can't believe they let that happen.
bigbadbuff
The thing with Sean is he hasn’t shown growth. Like, when you play mahomes and KC you have to be more aggressive, we all know this, and he’s not. He made the same mistakes this year as last year. Josh Allen going bonkers just masked that
Thelonebillsfan
If Mahomes is so otherworldly and touched by the heavens that you can't even beat him with a lead with 13 seconds left in a game then you're never going to beat that player in which case why bother, who cares, and who cares if the coach gets let go over it. It's all meaningless anyway.
biggie.
FWIW, both Allen and Mahomes received 90+ QBRs on ESPN.

I get how upset all Bills fans are and I would be livid after this game. For perspective, Nick Foles annihilated BB in a Super Bowl. Sometimes a human QB just goes nuts. If that QB is a demi-god then its much more likely. McDermott beat those Chiefs in KC earlier this year. The goal next year needs to be to not have to go to Arrowhead and to not see them until the AFCCG if at all.

Thelonebillsfan
I know he's not going to GET fired, NFL ownership doesn't think this way. But in my opinion it needs to at least be being considered.
SkippyX
There was a KC at NE playoff game in 2015 where AR and Doug Pederson just lost their minds with a horrific 6 minute drill when down 2 scores. Those guys were part of the next 3 of the next 4 Super Bowls and AR is 2 wins from a legit Dynasty. Coaches, even good ones, have bad moments.
