Not sure, dynamics have  changed this season a little bit.  Watson still. has a NTC.  No offense to Vikings fans, but the choice of living in MN or FL seems to be in the Bucs favor.  His base salary this season will be 35 million, last season 10.5 million.  A lot more money to pay in salary this yr.  I do think Lovie wants this resolved ASAP.  He tossed Revis pretty quick without blinking an eye.  I know Cesario is the GM, but I think Lovie's opinion has to carry some weight.

Set aside the legal question, I don't mind giving up 1st rdrs because the assumption is with a franchise QB those picks will be in the 20s each season.  Also, Licht has found prospects after the first rd and a really good job of UDFAs that can contribute- Brate, Leverett, Stinnie come to mind.

New league yr is 3/16.  Answers might be coming shortly.

Add in the fact that Minnesota's income tax at his level is 9.85% and Florida is 0.

O Connell's introductory presser in Minny- states he really likes Cousins and the GM expects Cousins on the roster.  Licht and BA after Brady's retirement- "What's behind door 2?".  Notice the difference.

Playing off this...

'NFL Network reports the Bucs have done a "ton of work" looking into a Russell Wilson acquisition.

As previously reported, the same is true of Deshaun Watson. NFL Network's James Palmer also claims the team believes second-year pro Kyle Trask compares favorably to this year's draft class, but there has ultimately been very little buzz on 23-year-old Trask's Tampa future. He does not appear to be the Bucs' Plan A, B or C right now.'

This makes me believe it's going to be a veteran QB from outside the current roster at the helm this season. It just remains to be seen whether it's an upper echelon type (i.e the Watson or Wilson rumors), or a bridge guy...

Hmm a lot of support for a guy who : 1- has 22 women that've come forward for sexual assault - 10 of whom filed criminal charges with police. 2. Is vastly overpaid. On the field - he'll put up numbers but like winston - if everything isn't strong around him - he's not going to win us games. 3. The salary cap doesn't work for a 40MM QB. He's not in the 40MM tier in my opinion. Him and Dak are both over paid and need a strong team around them . 4. That strong team will vastly weaken given what we'd have to give up to get him. 3 first round picks and a pair of 2's? Mind you we'd also have to cut players to get around the salary cap. Davis, Godwin, Cappa, Jensen, Whitehead, Gholston, and Suh would all be gone with no premium draft picks nor cap to replace them with quality talent.

5. League suspension or prison: This matter isn't going to be resolved any time soon and may still impact his 2022 season if its not resolved. No team would be smart enough to give up picks for a man who's more than likely going to be found guilty. If he avoids jail time, the commisioner will suspend him. This isn't just one woman who came forward. It's 22.

So Wentz's odds where he could get better with his vibe

A pretty damning indictment of his leadership there.

The longer this goes, the more I think we’ll somehow end up with Bridgewater or resign Winston. Neither are particularly appealing options, but bringing either of those guys in on relatively low salaries might let us do what we need to do before FA.

I have a feeling someone will massively overpay for Winston on the basis of last season.

Not sure what you were watching but D Wat is far from Dak. He doesnt need everything to be perfect to succeed. His OL in Houston was god awful and D Wat still put up a 30/7 TD:INT season when Hopkins got sent off. He had a monster season on a 4-12 team. Definitely not one of those guys that need a perfect situation to flourish.

Bucs gotta resign their guys. I read something a while back with how we could create a lot more cap space if needed for our guys or a QB. We’re gonna have to let some guys walk but to me we need to see, Godwin, Carlton, Gholston and Whitehead back. Really like to see Jensen back too but idk on price. After that love to have Lenny back.

In terms of outside free agents, we need a 3rd WR that can separate and then draft someone in the first 2 rounds at WR as well. Injuries to that position were a big reason that doomed us this year. And we won’t have Brady to overcome the injuries next year.

Gaudy stats vs wins? Taking the money and shedding talent resulted in 4-12. Not 12-4 or even 10-6. Add in his stupidity off the field - I'd say the guy isn't worth the risk or the money. Mahomes and Allan got paid and still looked like super bowl contenders. Watson looked like a guy who held onto the ball too long and put up a ton of garbage stats in his last season. Hell with 22 women charging him - 10 criminally - I'd say his odds are low of him even playing in 2022.

You did not watch the Texans and thats OK. A guy completing 70 of his passes while leading the entire NFL in passing yards is not someone who needs the perfect situation my man. I’ve been following Watson since Clemson he’s the real deal. They went 4-12 because their defense was bottom 5. One of the worst secondaries in the league. Texans mismanaged their team trading players away for draft picks. The Texans Owner is the one who tried to sabotage Watson while running a crappy organization. They just hired Lovie Smith in 2022. sorry im not going to believe the reports when one of the accusers lives next door to the owner. We seriously not considering how horrible they are ran into their downfall? Either way a move for him wont be made until his legal matters are situated. 3 firsts is too steep but 2 and some seconds and I’m fine with it. I just think the entire situation is BS and fabrication that was initiated by a scorn owner whose qb wanted to change scenary.
