I think he will - LAC has a reputation of not paying multiple guys at a single position, and Keenan Allen already has that 2nd contract. Williams also has his injury history to account for - he’s been healthy RECENTLY, but he’s always got some nagging injury to account for. If they could find someone who can take on Keenan Allen, then yeah - maybe then they’d use the savings to re-sign Big Mike and draft Allen’s replacement.

The Spanos family will rather try to recoup losses with a comp pick and a 2nd round WR than issue a 2nd contract to a guy.

I don't think they'll let Mike Williams hit free agency.

Justin Herbert has too much chemistry with him. Herbert absolutely loves him.

And the Chargers are fully loaded in Available Salary Cap Space (ranked #2 @ $56,316,690 under the cap).

Not only that but like you mentioned they can always pay Mike Williams and draft Keenan Allen's replacement because Keenan Allen's turning 30 next month and can cut Keenan Allen next offseason and save $16M for doing so

(Heck they can even afford to draft a 1st round WR this up coming draft and still keep both Keenan Allen/Mike Williams moving forward).

Likely that Jimmy G ends up released due to the shoulder surgery at this point.

Don Yee and Jimmy G played this pretty well, all things considered if they just wanted to pick his next location.

It’s less about the space, more about what ownership does. The Spanos family is notorious for short changing players, not offering top dollar for players and letting some very talented players walk away for nothing.

Cap space is available, but somebody still has to cut that million dollar check. Dean Spanos doesn’t do that most of the time.

The Denver Broncos quarterback problems have left the franchise in a tough spot this offseason. Either the front office goes all-in on an Aaron Rodgers trade or it might have to settle for a far less appealing option in the 2022 NFL Draft or NFL free agency.

I think the Packers would be nuts to not take this deal from Denver*

*Note The NFLs most malignant narcissist could blow up any possible Denver trade if his feelings were not properly considered.

  • Denver had to sign Jake Kumerow and pay Rodgers 55 a year.
  • Green Bay has to name a road after him and build him a statue.
  • Who knows with this complicated fella?

This isnt even a little bit surprising. Cole has an innate ability to wear out his welcome:

In fairness, he's also old and somewhat expensive.

Stacked, undersized receiver classes are bad juju for a guy like Beasley.

I don't know what is going on here. Not even a franchise tag? What are the Pats doing?

Waiting for the “BB always knows what he’s doing when he lets a player walk” comment.

They usually dont franchise a player they don't think is worth the money. Its a frustrating strategy at times, but it comes with the potential for the market to not be as lucrative as the player thinks. Its worked out before, but not this time. JC is gonna be overpaid for sure.

Bold new strategy you’re employing here…

I wanted us to draft him. What type of payday are Jags fans expecting?
