I do not trust Chuks but I think an OT like Cross or Penning falls down their list. WR, safety, DT and CB move up

warfelg
DJ and Claypool starting WRs. Bush still at ILB. Witherspoon and Wallace at CB. That all feels really weak.

Standard Steelers to go into the draft with no big holes

Cbrunn
I may be late but I seen Tomlin ran George Pickens through his drills? Dark horse 1st round? Has Tomlin ever ran someone through their drills before?

AFF
They’re gonna sign a vet FA at SS…asking as they don’t sign a WR before the draft, I’m going to expect a WR in the 1st or 2nd round. To be honest, I’d be fine double dipping a 1/2 and a 4th.

The WR class is kind of deep and unpredictable, I think it could happen.
SteelersFan2333
Heck, I wouldn’t mind them going Wilson, Olave, or Williams in the first and circling around for Skye Moore in the second if they’re the BPA on their board. No concern about DJ needing big money next year and puts the message to Claypool he needs to mature and play. Then focus on D for the rest of the draft.

There are good prospects, but not on Cross' level. and I think the Steelers are going to be largely content with Moore and Chuks this year. What about Trevor Penning? On a random note, would you be ok with Chad Muma or any of the QBs in rd 2? Edited March 27, 2022 by DR43
Dcash4
This quote is….less than encouraging. There’s no way they got this far into the off-season without really knowing after last year…..is there?

I know they are a loyal team, and I love them for that, but at some point you have to say we need a decision. That point was before FA started. They’re gambling with the rest of the whole team for one person, and that’s not the way you have to play it in the NFL. I know it’s a tough situation he’s in, I lost my parents to a drunk driver, but you have to move on in life in one direction or another in order to advance in life. My thoughts are with him, but the team needs to know what’s happening and that’s a failure of the front office.

Even just his cap relief of $4.5 mill could get a solid starter with a low year 1 cap hit.
