If this was a guy on the Cleveland Browns or Denver Broncos, nobody would care, except their teammates and family of course. Point being, a Dallas Cowboy lays a bad fart on a bus and it's on every news channel in America. But it does amplify one very obvious point, there is NO discipline or accountability under this regime. More than once Parsons has lashed out on social media. Now young players with a lot of potential are making possible life altering mistakes, possibly, we don't know for sure yet. Under a guy like Johnson, do you think this crap happens? See, it's my opinion that the talent is there, the discipline is not. Under Johnson's regime, even a guy like Irvin got careless and Johnson benched him for half a game. Discipline, accountability, but not to the point of stupidity. (Stupidity being benching one of your best players to the point of costing the team a W) But he made his point and it resonated. It seems to me, under this regime, every time we get to this point in the season, where teams kick it up a notch,we get exposed. And it's not because of talent or a lack there of, but no discipline, distractions everywhere, focus lost. You can't predict the NFL and the Eagles aren't dumb enough to try and do that. For example what if the Lions sneak into the 7 seed and play Minnesota in the wild card? Are you sure that the most likely outcome is us playing Dallas in the divisional in that situation? I can assure you the Eagles team you are getting this weekend is the best one that we can offer. It sucks Hurts can't play but there is absolutely zero sense in rushing the most important player on your team back and potentially losing him for the season... especially for what is essentially a meaningless game outside of bragging rights(which of course we all want). Even if the Eagles end up losing out this is still the right decision. Hopefully both teams can stay healthy this weekend and the game remains entertaining even if the Hurts injury makes it a lot less interesting. I of course hope the Birds win, but I have serious doubts that is possible with our backup QB out there. None of what you said here conflicts with my opinion, so I guess we agree.
