I think if he continued to play at the level of his last few years, he would have  returned a first. But he's been awful this year and the contract is all weighted toward the new team because it's all base salary. I think now he may be looking at something closer to the second Carson Wentz trade rather than the first.

Colts retirement home will have a vacancy next year. I am sure the Raiders could extract a day 2 pick.

Washington needs to do something as well.

yeah, what would LV do for QB?

$32.9M of Carr base salary become guaranteed on Feb 15, so cutting him is not an option and trading him puts a bigger guaranteed amount back into the mix

Oof... I was going to say the Raiders signing him to a contract would have likely made him more valuable. Usually a team gives a healthy singing bonus to a QB and making his contract attractive as an asset, but the actual deal seems to reflect the ownership being relatively poor:

This makes the draft capital they can expect not that great, since it's going to be like signing a FA.

And here's the thing... Even with that type of value... Still have to rework the deal to some extent, I think

yeah, its a base that is guaranteed in mid February, so a new team would be on the hook for that $32.9M which is not a small price for a QB that you are wanting to get rid of

He's the thing... They are on a clock. The salary guarantees in February. That means they have to find a trade relatively quickly and if not, have to decide on whether they just want to cut him to move on. That won't help value either
