Exactly. I want nothing to do with him. The draft picks, contract he'd command, with his playing style, doesn't equal up for me. And I totally get why BAL is hesitant to pay him. But after all that's their own doing. When they drafted him they hoped this situation would happen. And now here we are.

Yeah, the amount of resources you'd have to invest into him is insane. Probably 3 FRPs and one of the biggest contracts every (likely almost fully GTD) and he hasn't shown that he can stay healthy.

Now for a dose of reality..... Lamar is not going anywhere, PERIOD!

Rodgers to the Jets, Jets fans are living in a dream escape world. Which to be honest could materialize. BUT at what cost? A one year rental, 2 years at the most. Rodgers would have to sign up for at least 3 years for it to be beneficial for the Jets.

Which brings us to the current state of affairs facing the Jets. Today is the 6th of Feb, Carr is officially on the books for 40 million and the Raiders are over a barrel because he has a no trade clause.

So even if the Raiders had a willing trade partner and were getting a wonderful package in return, why would Carr agree to the terms knowing they are going to have to pay him? He doesn't have to agree, why do the Raiders a favor who clearly want to get him off their roster?

He would be better served if he just sits it out until he gets cut or released to work out another more lucrative contract.

But let us say the Jets offer the Raiders a 4-5th round pick and give Carr a 4 year 200 million dollar contract guaranteed.

Then I could see it happen, if Carr wanted to come to the NYJ.

HERE, is where it gets hairy for the Jets, if the Jets are all in on Rodgers, and the deal falls through, and they miss on Carr because AR is such a flake and strings teams along. Where does that leave the Jets with Jimmy G?

And while Jimmy G is not a bad option, he is an injury away from not being a dependable signing.

My take is this, go all in on Carr, keep your 13th pick, the guy is an iron man, and for once in his life he will have a team on the brink of something special.

If Carr is on the Jets this year, the Jets make the playoffs.

2021 was less then great but this year was solid. in 12 games he had triple the amount of TDs that any jets QB had.

Just about ever starting QB in the league had triple TD's more than the Jets QB's. I don't want Lamar becasue the run first idea never works. I have hated running QB's since Mike Vick was in the league. You can go deep in the league but push comes to shove you go with the throwing QB all day long.

Lets see here:  3200 yds, 17 TD, 7 Int, 6.9 y/a, 187 y/g, 62.3 comp %.  Yup, screams multiple FRP's plus the highest paid QB.  Maybe he will have a full season as well.  But probably not since he never has.

I would have had triple the amount of TD's.  That is a very poor comparison.  Lamar would sink this team even faster than Rodgers.

Appears the Raiders have overwhelmingly overtaken us as the place most see Rodgers going to.

Hopefully JD can get some clarity on this and look into Carr if that's the case.

I feel like most fans forget that these guys have to want to come here. Are we an ascending team, sure. We finally have a very solid young core. Does 3-14 then 7-10 inspire much hope? For us fans it does, but for guys like Rodgers or Carr they may feel like they have better chances elsewhere. Rodgers may feel he has a better chance with the pieces in LV. We look at our offense and think "if only..." and he could look at our offense and see: terrific rookie in GW, a RB coming off a torn ACL, a bad OL with guys who we maybe overrate and a talented slot receiver whose production has sucked. Obvious I hope that isn't the case since he respects Hackett so much and Hackett chose to come here, but you never really know.

I don’t think Hackett had too many options tbh. I don’t have much faith in the offense next year with him at the helm. His flaws appear to be similar to Gase and MLF, stubborn to a fault

Doesn't Jimmy G to LV make a ton of sense since he's played under McDaniel before and he's not known as a guy who doesn't get along with a ton of guys?

I mentioned it before, it just makes too much sense for him not to go there. If Carr goes to an NFC team and Rodgers doesn't pick Vegas, Jimmy will be there. For the Raiders, you're getting a vet QB who has proven he can go far with the right talent around him. He's going from Deebo and Kittle to Adams, Waller, and Jacobs. He knows the system.

For Jimmy, he's the same dude who went on a date with a porn star. He's going to love Vegas lol. Seriously though, there is a lot of opportunities and growth happening in the city. Other sports leagues are looking at Vegas to bring teams to it.

If I'm not mistaking, they also have more cap space. They should be able to add some talent to that terrible defense.

I think we're appealing to good players now because we seem like a team on the rise. I don't consider us to be a "Win now" team, but two years ago, people would have laughed at the idea of Rodgers coming to us. That's not the case. JD is going up against Challenges like the timing of his roster build, state income tax in both NJ/NY, and the fact that most of the NFL players aren't from the North.

So when free agents are picking teams, these things are being considered. Like when coming us to the Raiders. They have more talent on offense but they're trash on defense. They'll have the money to fix that potentially. Outside of that, Vegas is growing fast. Other sports leagues are trying to get teams there. Investment opportunities are insane right now. I don't think there is a state income tax there either. The cost of living around the city is cheaper. That's hard to compete with.

New York has attractions of course, but the income tax and cost of living means we have to consider those things in our deals until we become a team good players are willing to take less for. We're on the right track. We finally have players others would like to play with. Saleh is showing progress. NY has more Millionaires than any other state. We have to stay on track and be aggressive when the opportunities strike.
