Chrono Trigger Mafia (Lavos and Magus wins!)

Recommended Posts

While preparing to make their final stand, the party had yet another setback, discovering that someone had murdered one of the final remaining heroes of Time, @RandyMossIsBoss, with a blade. The loss of Marle will be a major blow to the hopes of Earth in its darkest hour:

Spoiler

Marle
Origin: 1000 AD (Present)

"This... this can't be the way the world ends. We must change history!" - Marle

You are aligned with Earth: Eliminate all threats to Earth.

ROLE ABILITIES:
(In general, you may only use one of your role's abilities each night. Day Action abilities are instead used during the day, while Passive abilities are always active.)

  • Cure: Target another player to protect that player from being killed during the night. You cannot target the same player with this ability two nights in a row.
  • Aura (Day Action): Twice per day, through PM with the host, target another player and specify a message of 255 characters or less. That player will receive that message privately in their own PM with the host. The message is received anonymously, with nothing about your identity being told to the recipient.

STARTING ITEMS:
(You may use one item at night in addition to one of your role's night actions. Passive items are always active while in the inventory, and need not be used.)

  • Crossbow (Ranged): Once per game, target a player. The following night, that player is killed (even if you are dead or roleblocked that night). This item is only considered a visit on the first night, but protection will only save that player on the second night. That player will not be told of their imminent death.

ORIGIN BONUS:
(The first time the game enters your time period of origin at the end of a day, you obtain the following ability. It is not considered a part of your role until then.)

  • Life: Once per game, target a player. All other abilities targeting that player will fail, and that player's vote count will default to -1 (instead of 0) during the upcoming day.

The party had no time to properly mourn the loss, however, as the ground began to shake violently. They did their best to brave themselves as Lavos emerged from the planet's core... the conclusion of their quest was finally at hand.

While unclear how they managed it, but someone loyal to Lavos had succeeded in triggering a time jump to this apocalypse, sacrificing themselves in the process - one player of the Lavos faction (of their choice if multiple remained) assumed the role of Lavos itself as the time period shifted! All hope is not lost, however - while it was untouchable beneath the surface, the amount of energy it had to expend to emerge from the planet's core has left it vulnerable to an all-out assault. While the party knew this would be their final chance to put a stop to this extraterrestrial monstrosity, their goal was simple: identify and eliminate Lavos today, before it can use its incredible might to lay waste to the planet!

Beware, however - lynching someone loyal to Lavos is not enough! The party must lynch Lavos itself, or the game will end as a victory for the Lavos faction. Conversely, if Lavos is successfully lynched, any other remaining players of the Lavos faction will be killed alongside it. Unlike the game's previous time periods, the unique voting rules of 1999 AD are public knowledge:

  • 1999 AD (Cataclysm): All pseudoplayers are votelocked, while all other players are guaranteed a single normal vote. No player may use Day Actions, and other effects that would prevent a player from voting, change a player's vote, alter any voting mechanics, overturn the lynch result, or save the lynched player from dying are negated. If the vote ends tied even after an overtime period, whichever player reached that amount of votes first is declared the lynch (instead of the normal no lynch result). If the lynched player is Lavos, all players sharing that player's faction are eliminated (if there are additional threats to Earth remaining, the game shifts to the time period it should've progressed to before entering 1999 AD). If not, the Lavos faction wins the game (thereby ending it).

The deadline to make this decision is Thursday at 9:00 PM ET. Although I will allow the day (and by extension, the game) to end early if enough votes are locked to clinch a result, everyone should weigh their options heavily after discussion before committing to anything.

Good luck, time travelers! The fate of Earth rests entirely in your hands...

So, has to be Rags

Stayed quiet all game, has no info

Deadpulse lied about his role, but Rags still wanted to lynch me, apparently in a chat with him but knows almost nothing

Except I was the one handing out the triple invests.

And I knew his wincon which was proven by the flip.
