Chiefer
Is CB high on the list? I feel like it’s right there with pass rush for importance. You can never have enough good corners, and while our guys are young there’s no guarantee they’ll get better. I still have concerns about Josh Williams. Jakuvious
I mean, Williams is effectively the #4 right now, so I wouldn't call it a concern. You're pretty much always going to draft at least one DB late just kind of off numbers, but there's really no reason to prioritize a CB right now. So that means we’re gonna use him a good amount, and he’s the first man up in case of emergency. Also isn’t Sneed on the last year of his deal? From what I’ve seen, CBs kinda move around the league, and are hardly ever re-signed by their drafted team. Even since the days of Neon Deion, good corners travel. I saw on a PFF podcast that a Chiefs scout came up with some kind of algorithm for corners that got some notice. So maybe we continue to draft late rounders. I just wouldn’t be surprised by an early round pick either.

mayanfootball
Some outstanding CB's come in this draft. Some (like Darius Rush, Carrington Valentine, etc.) are available 3rd.rd. and later.
kingseanjohn
Quentin Johnston is training with the guys in Texas. He's local to the area so it likely means nothing. But it does make me wonder if Pat is doing some scouting for Veach. Other guys in attendance include WRs Moore, MVS, Smith-Marsette, Ross, Toney, and James along with TEs Kelce, Gray, Fortson, Bell, and Bushman. Now that we have two very good CB and two more than adequate backups.😬 I expect that we will pick one up and maybe a RB to go with a couple of WR and a TE or two. I think these things just can’t be overlooked. If you look at the chemistry our team came out with on offense vs say GB who’s QB couldn’t be bothered to come off his high to work with the new guys and it just says a lot. For the young guys every catch, every route is important. For a guy like MVS who honestly undelivered in all but the AFC Championship game, it’s about building the momentum, working the hands. It's bigger than most are crediting. We found Justin Watson during these informal sessions last year and had JuJu locked in when camp started. Likewise, Richie James and Justyn Ross get invaluable experience with Mahomes without having to fight the depth chart for it. As you say, MVS gets time to focus. Toney and Skyy will have expanded roles.
kingseanjohn
Looks like Pat is actually scouting WR for Veach
onejayhawk
Works for me. The question is whether it works for the NFL and the NFLPA.

Chiefer
I wonder which one he likes more. I suspect we’re trading up in the first round. Total Veach move and add some drama in front of the home crowd Would we do it for a WR for Pat? I like Zay Flowers, he’s like a mini Toney lol.

If Mahomes reports back positively enough about one of them, I could see it. Though hopefully his scouting has improved since CEH.
kingseanjohn
While I haven't put in my usual effort in scouting, I can't help but feel that this class is weak. I wouldn't be surprised to see us trade up more than down and potentially even use this years picks to acquire additional draft picks next year. I'm also doubting that we draft OL in rounds 1-3 barring a Tunsil draft night type situation. As more time goes on, I'm feeling more like Niang will be the other starting OT with Tega Wanogho being the primary backup.
