Greg Joseph has only made 45 percent of his field-goal attempts from 40 yards away or further this season (5-of-11).

After Sunday's performance, the Vikings' only kicker on their roster has converted only 76 percent of his field goal tries this year, which is even lower than the 78.8 field-goal percentage that he finished with last season.

A different special teams coordinator is probably something O’Connell needs to consider after this year.

Daniels isn't kicking the ball.  Their STs, including punting, is about the middle of the pack.  It's only Joseph's kicking that is dragging down their overall ST DVOA.

punting has been off too.

i think the point is that Daniels isn't improving these players' skills.

Wright has been worse than he was last year, but he's still middle of the pack.  I think if we've learned anything over the years is that the ST coordinators have little to do with anything regarding the effectiveness of an individual kicker or punter.  It's on the player themselves to improve.  The coordinators have far more to do with the coverage teams than the individual kicker or punter.

Sometimes it's the players, and in Joseph's case, I'd bet on it.

I’m surprised he’s lasted this long to be honest. I know Joseph has had some big kicks so maybe that has given him a bit of job security.

well, then let's hire Ryan Longwell or somebody as a consulting specialist to help out whatever kicker we have next year. why not?
