Glad Terron Armstead is still a Saint, Trevor Penning didn’t quite look ready as a rookie

lol I got lazy after typing out the first release by hand and copy pasted the today's reveal from https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10083878-nfl-networks-top-100-players-of-2023-tua-tagovailoa-justin-fields-among-nos-90-81 and I caught they typo'd Tua's name when I was reformatting to match the ones I typed out, but I missed they messed up Armstead's team.

Surprised to see Devonta Smith so low.

I was more surprised he made it. I would think there is roughly 10 WR, maybe a few more, on a NFL Top 100. Adams, Jefferson, Kupp, Hill, Chase, Diggs, AJ Brown are locks for 7 of those spots. So 3-6 more taken by like Ceedee, Evans/Godwin, Hopkins, Deebo, Waddle, Cooper, McLaurin, Metcalf, Keenan Allen, Amon-Ra and whatnot. Like I think Smith can slide over some in argument but also others could go over him in argument too not listed like Garrett Wilson, Tee Higgins, DJ Moore,  Aiyuk, or Olave? I wasn't expecting Devonta Smith to make it personally.

Kupp over Devonta? Why?

I’m assuming this is the top 100 players of 2022-2023, right?

The NFL Network polls the players for a Top 100 best players for the upcoming season (based mostly off reputation of the previously played year, but they can vote for anyone and any reason). Cooper Kupp is surely a lock for the Triple Crown the year before.

Maybe then. But I’m 90% sure they do it based off the previous season’s performance. At least, that’s what it used to be.

Did not expect Devonta to make this list. Tells me the Eagles will get a ton of love, which is not too surprising considering all the exposure they got. Going to predict 6 additional Eagles make the list.

  • Jason Kelce- top 75
  • Haason Reddick- top 75
  • Darius Slay- top 60
  • Lane Johnson- top 60
  • AJ Brown- top 30
  • Hurts- top 6

I may have predicted him in that 80-100 range (same with Bradberry, but saw he was just outside at 107). Not sure he gets enough attention to make this kind of list, Lane and Kelce soak up all the OL love in media and he's still without a pro bowl or all pro. If he makes this list it may unironically be the best individual accolade of his career up to this point.

I would probably wager that Hurts is not in the top 6, but anything is possible.
