He's gotta get better at protecting himself if he's going to last as a real "dual threat QB". Even a guy like Cam Newton who was built a little bigger and more ruggedly, had better apparent awareness of how to protect himself at least a little bit better. That play where he got injured, quite honestly looked like he could've ended up with two separate concussions on the same play. One from the violent twisting recoil of his head initially being hit with that blindside, and then obviously the even bigger looking one when the back of his head bounced off the ground like it was a trampoline. When the Colts traded Stephon Gilmore; rumors started spreading that Buckner wanted to be traded and Buck went on Twitter/X to tell the account NFLRumors “I need you to check your sources” Gilmore only got traded because he asked for a trade.
