The QBs the 3 defensive HCs have - Josh Allen (has been in MVP consideration for years), Herbert (elite QB with a trash defense), Goff (having a career resurgence) and Pickett/Tru (clear outliers). Coincidence? Lol I don't see why the argument is a good defense OR a franchise QB. Good defenses are necessary for postseason success but if you have mediocre QB play you're probably not getting to the postseason without a top 3 defense. The league has moved to a good/great offense to a good/very good defense. There is no great defense! The league lacks defensive minded coaches and players.
