Rtnldave
How the F do you give up 14 yards on 3rd and 15???? I get we got lucky on 4th down. But the bigger question, fir a team that wants to win is, how the F do you give up 14 yards on 3rd and 15????

And I think the conventional thought of the thick thighed, broad shouldered power back is a little outdated anyway. Pollard should have no problem slipping through those tight inside gaps in the red zone. Guys like Ekeler, McCaffrey, even the lesser star power guys like Myles, Dobbins, etc who aren't built 'that way" have still shown quite an ability to find the smaller crease and wiggle through. True. I just like the idea of dash and smash to mix it up.

Also, not convinced that Pollard > healthy Zeke Pollard is not as talented as Zeke in his prime. The problem is that Zeke is no longer in his prime. And it has nothing to do with age, either .. As a kid in college he saw a LOT of touches against top schools that play hard and hit harder. Comes to the NFL and gets grinded hard for four or five years straight, even having like 60 catches once or maybe twice, to go along with being top 5 in carries. All while never really having a frequent change of pace guy behind him until his legs and balance showed signs of losing their greatness, and then they worked Pollard in more and more. But by then it was too late. Overworked from the age of 16, really. That by the time he was 27, his legs played like that of a 32 year old. The D gets paid too you know. They sniffed that play out before it was even snapped. The alignment was a telltale sign of a flare, screen or wheel attempt. When the linemen stay in, and the receivers clear out, the only thing it can be is a flare (or a crossing pattern, but who runs a crossing pattern against a clear cover 2? So it hd to be a flare. Easy read)
